FirstBarkI recently put my pit bull through the 5 day course here and even after as little time as that I saw vast improvement in her obedience and behavior. I’ve had little trouble with her pulling when I walk her with the leash nor with her jumping on myself or others when someone come in the house.

I would recommend Kansas City K9 Academy to anyone looking for obedience training or help with problem behaviors. Ryan is absolutely excellent, and you can tell he really cares about the dogs. Because he only has a handful of dogs at a time, they get lots of individual training time and attention. He lays a solid foundation and then teaches the humans how to continue working with their dog afterward as well. I was a bit nervous that Torta would be sad being away two weeks in a row, but when we arrived the second week, she ran right to Ryan for pets. If you're on the fence, book a consult and see what Kansas City K9 Academy has to offer. You won't regret it!

We had a great experience with KC K9 Academy! Our two year old pup had some basic commands down, but trouble listening and staying in the command until released. She stayed in her place the first night allll through dinner, which was amazing considering she was a professional counter surfer. Overall the training helped her become a better listener and more confident in different situations so she's not as jumpy. Her recall is also 1000% better...even when chasing deer out of the yard, her favorite past time- she stops and comes right back when asked. I recommend clients definitely get the buckle collar and leash Ryan has- game changers!!
Enhanced our service dogs ability to better control him with commands. Also provide structure and control when in public or around groups of people.

I sent my two dogs Miska and Miley here for the 5 day training course. Both my dogs are ~80lb and high energy. I had tried to train them on my own over the 2-3yrs I have had them - only being about 25-50% successful. They would listen to me in the house, but rarely outside of the house or with distractions. The e-collar training Ryan almost feels like a cheat code - in a good way. My dogs are both extremely obedient now, and they are even excelling with Heel commands during walks (with distractions) - something I never thought was possible. Ryan's training was a great foundation and so far it has been easy enough to keep up with the training on my end. Overall both my family and my dogs seem happier.
