Kabler School For Dogs

I cannot speak highly enough of David Kabler, Master Trainer, and his fabulous team at Kabler School for Dogs. ❤ I received my West German Showline German Shepherd, Lola, when she was one year old, and she just turned two this month. David has been diligently working with Lola and I for only about 10 months and the transformation is astounding! I brought Lola to David and his team when she was highly-reactive, unpredictable, "barking every bunny" in sight, stubborn & hard-headed, wouldn't ride in the car without scolding passersby, and determined to "rule the roost" as she'd been accustomed to doing. Undersocialized, Lola spent a lot of time in a fenced backyard before I 'rescued' her and her tummy was plastered with mud. Her previous family seemed to love her, but they couldn't handle her as she got older and bigger - she's a big girl. When she didn't want to come inside, they couldn't 'make' her, so she spent her pup days digging and aggressively yelling at innocent squirrels. Last Sunday, I had to travel to SC to meet colleagues and decided to take Lola with me. When I arrived at an outdoor, busy cafe' we got the last parking spot and I realized I couldn't leave her in the car, so I reluctantly took her with me, following David's handling instructions in detail - a true test of the training we've been doing. To my amazement, Lola was perfectly mannered, spent three hours in a down/stay and made friends with both of my companions! This is particularly impressive, given the fact that children skipped past us at times and cyclists passed nearby walking their bikes, as they arrived at the cafe'. Today, we had to return for a meeting in the same place, and again, she behaved exceedingly well. I am so proud of Lola and eternally grateful to David and his professional team. We will continue to work with David Kabler to further refine Lola's skill level. David's expertise, intuition and consistent training, with impeccable oversight, is turning my beautiful GSD into a champion in her own right. 😊

The trainers at Kabler School for dogs did a great job working with me and my high-energy lab mix who was leash reactive to other dogs. We completed the onleash course and I can’t thanks Kabler enough for their help. I especially appreciate that after you’ve completed their training, you can go to free advanced group classes that are at French Broad River Park, Asheville outlet mall and other locations.

We could not be more proud of our River. She is a 2 year old rescue who we had for only a few months before seeking help from Kabler School for Dogs. She was reactive to dogs and strangers, she pulled like a sled dog. The moment we left the house for a walk I felt tense and worried about who we would bump into. Candy was willing to work with River even though River was not a fan of Candy to begin with. Candy is very knowledgeable and problem solved any issues that came up. River completed the On Leash sessions and we are currently enrolled in Off Leash. The drills we practiced everyday was a must, you cannot skip steps and progress will feel slow. Looking back every training session we did at home with River has paid off. It is so worth it, keep practicing. We have a dog that walks next to us, has bonded to us and is relaxed with strangers in and out of our home. River has made friends with Candy and enjoys coming to the school each week. The peace of mind and bond I have with my dog was worth the investment of money and time. All of the staff at Kabler School for Dogs are professional and helpful. We will be sticking around for a while and highly recommend this team for any help you need with your dog(s). Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

We rescued Norman from the Humane Society about a year ago and as far as we knew he had spent most of his life in a crate. This came with an endless list of behavioral issues that increasingly got worse by the day. It got to the point where we couldn't go anywhere or even into our own yard without an absolute meltdown of barking and reactivity. Every bird, squirrel, and tree he encountered was a nightmare. Life with Norman was just a series of avoiding his triggers which began to prove impossible because everything was a trigger, literally everything. Walks with him were unpleasant as he jerked you around wherever he wanted to go. We knew we had to do something as things were proving to only get worse the more comfortable and settled in he became in our home. We went to Kabler School for a consult and immediately knew it was just what Norman needed. Candy was able to help us figure out a plan and what attainable goals we wanted to set. During their 6 week board and train program they were able to get him completely off of his anxiety medication. Norman not only returned to us a more confident, calmer, and obedient boy but also so much fuller of personality and life! Norman graduated school 5 months ago now. We continue to work with him daily in his training but it's fun now that we have the tools and knowledge we needed. Kabler has continued to offer continuous support as we have worked through this process or as things come up. Nick is always available to answer questions and give direction. They truly guarantee their work! I was happy to make this investment in Norman but I soon realized it was an investment in the both of us. I have learned so much through this process that I feel confident that I can continue working with Norman and any future pups I'll have as well! I can't say enough good things about Kabler School For Dogs.

100% top notch professionals. Even just in the free initial evaluation was given some helpful tips and instruction. Did an 8 week course that was great, and my pup even spent a week there. She loves visiting, and picking out new toys and tools. As far as Asheville goes they have the best sourced selection of gear, toys, and tools for your dog. Hands down, quality biothane and leather gear are impossible to find in most stores, as well add in that kabler fairly prices their products. Yes the services can seem steep, however raising my dog the kabler way has given me the tightest bond and one of the most engaging and responsive personalities.
