What areas do you serve?
We’re located in downtown Ferndale and serve the surrounding metro Detroit area. For our Day Training service, we work within a 5-mile radius of our facility.
We use positive reinforcement and science-based training methods. Our trainers are certified and follow the recommendations of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and focus on building trust and communication between dogs and their families through kind, force-free techniques.
Puppies can start classes after their first round of vaccinations and with a negative fecal test from their veterinarian. We follow AVSAB guidelines that recommend early socialization before puppies are fully vaccinated in order to prevent future behavior issues that can come from lack of proper socialization during these developmental windows.
Absolutely! We specialize in helping reactive dogs through our structured program that includes online foundations, in-person classes, and practice sessions. We have both indoor and outdoor reactive classes to meet each dog’s need and comfort level.
Most group classes are 45 minutes long - the perfect amount of time for dogs to optimize learning. Our core classes run for 6 weeks and electives run weekly for 4 weeks.

It consisted of 30mins of the trainer talking and 10 mins of the puppies playing. We were very disappointed that we didn’t get any real training and just information on how to introduce new things to the puppy, which we have had previous dogs and know. All the puppies would be barking for the 30 min lecture and we were told to just keep feeding, which was rewarding the dog for behavior we didn’t want. I would not recommend this class based on our experience. Maybe a different class would have worked better for our dog and what we were expecting.

WOW!! I absolutely love and adore K9 Turbo. I’ve had the opportunity to work with the staff over the last 3 months to working on my rescue pits reactivity. Prior to this, I had one previous dog training experience. K9 Turbo is leaps and bounds ahead of my experience and has worked to give me the tools to support my girls journey.
What I loved the most was how they started from the basics/fundamentals then build on those concepts. I always felt supported, heard and not judged for having a reactive dog and of being unsure what to do.
