K9 Satisfaction

Working with Shannon has been such a great experience! We enrolled our 1 year old rescue in her Well-Mannered Dog Program and it has made a world of difference! When we adopted Marley it was apparent he had never had any sort of training and had likely been a stray living outside. He didn’t have any aggression issues, but he didn’t respond to basic commands and was absolutely terrible on a leash, backing out of his collar and even wiggling out of a harness! He would run away any chance he got, and we would end up chasing him through the neighborhood (I think he thought we were playing). After 2 weeks with Shannon he knows and responds to all the basic commands (“sit”, “down”, “wait”, “come”), he understands “NO”, and he comes when we call him. There have been several incidences since training where the door was left open and he snuck out behind us, but as soon as we called him, he stopped and came right back. He goes willingly to his “place” to lay down and waits until he hears “okay” to be free. Not only did Shannon work with him on-leash, but she did off-leash as well. I was a little uneasy about the ecollar training, but I am confident it was done the right way because now when Marley sees me get the ecollar out, he gets so excited because he knows we are going on an adventure! He is such a good boy both on-leash and off-leash, we love taking him everywhere with us! Shannon was extremely patient with us and gave us all the tools we needed to continue training at home.
