K9 Obedience Training

If you're looking for a dog trainer, I highly recommend Larry, owner of K9 Obedience Training. We came to Larry after our French Bulldog, Fiona, developed significant reactivity issues, especially around our kids. If she saw someone outside or heard a noise, she would become extremely reactive. Walks had become nearly impossible—many days I couldn't even get her down the driveway without a meltdown. This was after she had already completed a basic obedience program with another trainer when she was younger. To be honest, we had reached a point where we weren't enjoying life with our dog anymore. During our first meeting, Larry took the time to listen carefully to all of our concerns and truly understand Fiona's challenges. He then created a customized training plan tailored specifically to her needs. Because Fiona can be incredibly stubborn, Larry adjusted and refined the program along the way to ensure we continued making progress toward our goals. After just eight weeks, the transformation has been incredible. Fiona no longer has issues around the kids, her reactivity to things happening outside the window has been drastically reduced, and we're finally able to take her on walks and bring her places again with confidence. The training has completely changed our relationship with our dog and improved our quality of life as a family. We are beyond grateful to Larry and K9 Obedience Training for everything he has done.

I just finished the 8 week course with my almost 2 year old Golden Retriever, Alfie. Alfie was constantly pulling on walks, anxious in new places, jumping up on people to greet, and stealing food off counters. I knew I was looking for a trainer who offered private lessons that were tailored to what Alfie needed and Larry checked those boxes. He had me make a list of things I wanted to work on with Alfie for the first session and gave practical advice on how to solve certain issues. Not only did Larry teach fundamental exercises that every dog should know but gave additional instructions for how to continue training after the course was over. Both me and Alfie gained so much confidence through this and I would recommend Larry's training course to anyone no matter their dog's age or behavior!

Larry did an amazing job training our dog Athena. From the first session, you could tell he truly understands dogs and knows how to work with different personalities and behaviors. Athena has become more obedient, focused, and confident thanks to his training methods. Larry was patient, professional, and always took the time to explain everything clearly so we could continue the training at home. The difference in Athena is unbelievable.
