How long does each dog training session last?
Our session are anywhere from 40 to 60 min depending on the dog. We spend a great deal of time analyzing the problem behaviors and your goals (nipping, biting, barking, resource guarding, etc.). From there, we determine a training program that will outline how many sessions are needed. Each session after the initial will last roughly 1 hour depending on your dog’s ability that day and what is being taught. Remember: you as an owner, must be fully invested in this learning process to get the results you want!

Yes, we are balanced trainers — which means that we don’t adhere to one specific method. We work with your dog to find out what motivates them. One size does not fit all — dogs are unique in their likes and dislikes, just like humans. Some dogs aren’t very food motivated, and prefer play, toys, praise, etc. This is especially important when fixing undesirable behavior like running off and being at risk of getting run over.

At K9 Mania Dog Training, 100% of our focus is on you and your dog and your unique situation. We address behavioral problems from a holistic standpoint, whether that’s barking, nipping, separation anxiety, or something else. We identify and work through behavioral and environmental issues in your everyday environment and in a setting where we can control when to introduce other distractions (i.e. other dogs, people, children, etc.). Group classes are not ideal for addressing these issues since they often come with many distractions, other dogs with behavioral issues or one trainer for multiple dogs.

Every dog is different with unique behavioral issues that can affect the length of time it would take to train them. Quick-fixes and shortcuts can potentially do more harm than good. That’s why we work closely with your dog and you to make sure that you know what to expect. We had two dogs trained with Jamie — one in board and train and one in regular training — and the difference has been unbelievable.
Before training, both of my dogs would bark at people and try to jump on them. One of my dogs, who did the board and train program, used to bite people and was never really a “people dog.” Now, as long as people respect his boundaries, he is friendly, allows people to pet him, and even goes up to people on his own now.
My other dog was only ten months old at the time and had absolutely no obedience. He would destroy things around the house, constantly run away, and never respond when we called him. After training with Jamie, he now listens to commands, has amazing recall, and is so much more manageable and well-behaved.
Thank you so much, Jamie, for helping both of my dogs. Life with my babies has become so much less stressful, and we finally feel like we can truly enjoy them without constantly feeling overwhelmed. We’re so grateful for everything you did for our family!

K9 Mania was a great experience for us. Jaime was a straightforward, knowledgeable trainer who really helped improve our dog’s behavior. Our dog completed the 3-week board and train program, and we appreciated the daily updates throughout the process. We also valued that Jaime kept us informed when our dog developed a mild cough during training. Thankfully, he was still able to complete the program successfully.
Since coming home, he’s been much better on walks, and while we’re still continuing to work on other areas of his training, we feel confident we now have the tools and foundation to help him reach the level of training we want thanks to what we learned at K9 Mania.

I can’t say enough good things about Lucca’s board and train experience. Sending your puppy away is never easy, especially when they’re family, but the transformation has been incredible. The patience, communication, structure, and genuine care they showed throughout the entire process gave me so much confidence and peace of mind.
Lucca came back more focused, better behaved, more confident, and with a solid foundation that we can continue building on at home. What impressed me most was that the training wasn’t just about obedience — they truly understood his personality and worked with him in a way that brought out the best in him without taking away his playful spirit.
The updates, professionalism, and attention to detail were top tier from start to finish. You can tell this isn’t just a business to them — they genuinely love and understand dogs.
If you’re debating whether a board and train is worth it, especially for a stubborn or high-energy puppy like a Frenchie, I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions I made for Lucca. Highly recommend.

Our trainer Jamie did an amazing job with him. He was there for 3 weeks and what a difference. He used to jump on everyone, pull while walking and could never leave any toys on the floor which is difficult when you have 3 kids running around. Since he’s been back at home we don’t have to worry about any of that anymore. Now we can really enjoy our Prince! Thanks Jamie for doing such an awesome job with him!
