Extra care is considered our more dangerous "shadow" dogs as well as medically complex dogs. These dogs require more skilled staff and more cautious handling for safety. If they are "extra-care medical dog" they have more involved medical needs that require additional accommodations.
Shadow dogs go into socials on-leash walking around with a staff member acting as a supportive shadow. This is to help new dogs or dogs that need to learn the rules, boundaries, or general social skills.

We’ve been using K9 lifeline for a couple of years now and we’re very pleased with the staff and facilities. Our dogs know where they’re going several blocks before we get there and start getting so excited. We feel the staff there truly care for the dogs and are quick to reply if we have any questions. We won’t take our two girls anywhere else.

K9 Lifeline was worth every penny. I have a 1-year-old beagle and a 4-month-old German Shepherd. Introducing a second dog into our home was chaotic, and I quickly realized I was in over my head. K9 Lifeline gave me the tools to set boundaries, establish the rules of the house, and create a calmer environment. I now feel confident that I have the knowledge and tools to continue their training at home. A huge shout-out to our trainer, Liz, who put so much time, effort, and love into my girls. She immediately recognized their very different personalities and tailored the training to what each dog needed individually. She is a phenomenal teacher—not only for the dogs, but for their owners as well. I learned so much from her, and I'm incredibly grateful for the guidance and support she gave us. Every employee I interacted with was positive, welcoming, and genuinely cared about my two dogs. Even though our official training sessions are complete, I'm excited to continue attending the weekend classes. It's also reassuring to know that I have a place I completely trust for daycare or boarding whenever we need it.
