Extra care is considered our more dangerous "shadow" dogs as well as medically complex dogs. These dogs require more skilled staff and more cautious handling for safety. If they are "extra-care medical dog" they have more involved medical needs that require additional accommodations.
Shadow dogs go into socials on-leash walking around with a staff member acting as a supportive shadow. This is to help new dogs or dogs that need to learn the rules, boundaries, or general social skills.

When your dog goes into socials, they are on-leash walking around with a staff member. They are for shorter amounts, as they need help to learn rules, boundaries, or general social skills.

Over the years, I’ve also come to know both Liz and Heather M. as great friends and fantastic colleagues through additional programs at K9 Lifeline and seeing them each year at the IACP conference. Not only are they genuinely wonderful humans, they are also exceptional dog trainers—knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply committed to what they do.

I can't express how much I love this place, all of the K9 Lifeline staff and the facilities. My boy Ashitaka is a 2 1/2 year old Akita and he's so excited to come here. Everyone loves him up, and he loves them and his buddies for playtime. I've not had good experiences with other dog boarding or dogwalking companies I'd hired before trying K9 Lifeline...including with my previous 12 year old Akita, Bushido. I travel quite a bit, but after finding K9 Lifeline I never worry or have anxiety leaving my boys with them knowing they're having as good a time as I am and that they're being very loved, exercised and cared for. K9 keeps me updated daily with photos and any health issues that may develop. Needless to say, K9 Lifeline has been a real Godsend for me and my fur babies. I'd never consider using anyone else for boarding or daycare. K9 and their employees really go above and beyond for your and your fur babies. I highly recommend them.

My doggy daycare was full over Christmas, so my pup had to go to k9. I’m so grateful for how they communicated with me over the holidays, especially since it was her first time. They sent updates and pictures and when I picked her up, she was a happy puppy.
