K9 Kenny

Kenny is conveniently located in South Austin, and is an extremely knowledgeable and well-trained dog handler/trainer. He was patient not only with our young puppy but also with us who are new to dog ownership. Kenny gives a great lesson followed by homework to instill confidence in both dog and owners, as well as a written guide after each lesson for follow up. I highly recommend Kenny to get your precious paws on the right path to obedience.

I rescued a dog (Skyla) whose high energy and rambunctiousness caused her to be repeatedly returned to a Houston animal shelter. Not having a stable home and the consequent abandonment issues exacerbated Skyla's wild behavior, to the point that the shelter was considering putting her down. When I decided to keep her, I almost immediately looked into getting training for the both of us even though I had never done so with other dogs I took care of in the past. Kenny's lessons and advice very much so helped our dynamic, proved Skyla had the potential to settle down (eventually), and provided me confidence in how to work with her on a consistent basis. I would recommend Kenny to any dog owner who is willing to take coaching on interacting with their pet(s) in an effective manner.

I can’t say enough great things about K9 Kenny and the incredible work he did with my 7-year-old dog! I was honestly a little nervous about training at this stage in my dog’s life, but K9 Kenny proved that it’s never too late. He was patient, knowledgeable, and truly tuned into my dog’s needs and personality. The difference in behavior has been amazing—walks are more enjoyable, commands are followed more consistently, and overall, my dog seems happier and more confident. Kenny is terrific! He helped my wife and I train our 4 year old Boston terrier, and the improvement in her behavior and skills was noticeable very soon after we started our lessons. Kenny has a great way with dogs and people alike, and it makes the whole experience fun and enjoyable. It is very obvious in working with Kenny that he has a strong passion for helping dogs be their best! He also understands that success in training will depend on an owner’s commitment to the process, so he is very supportive throughout with follow ups and his availability for questions between sessions as well. We love Kenny! We took our 3 year old dog Molly to Kenny for basic obedience training. After the 6 sessions, we’ve come away with a much better behaved dog and the knowledge and confidence to continue our training efforts. Kenny was thorough, adaptable, and made each session fun. Molly was even excited each time we told her “We’re going to see Kenny!” We especially enjoyed how Kenny explained each facet of training — why Molly should know each command, why the commands should be given a particular way, and how each new command will help her to be a better behaved dog in general. Our biggest priority coming into training was to get Molly leash trained (she was a big puller). It was beyond frustrating to walk a dog who was pulling us in every direction! Now we enjoy walking her again, and Molly gets to happily explore the neighborhood as she practices her newfound leash manners. Thank you, Kenny!
