K9 Functional Training

Jason did an outstanding job training our 5-month-old black lab puppy, Ellie. Over the three weeks she was with him, he made incredible progress with commands like sit, down, place, leave it, and developed a strong heel on and off leash. We were especially grateful for the frequent updates and videos, which allowed us to see Ellie’s progress and eased our minds about missing her. Her door manners have improved significantly, and she no longer wakes us up at the crack of dawn. We were initially worried about whether the training would affect her sweet and affectionate nature, but Jason skillfully used her demeanor to his advantage, incorporating plenty praise and hugs as a way of positive reinforcement. This training was the best investment we could have made for our family. We look forward to working with Jason again when we add another puppy to our bunch!

We adopted a 16 week old rescue puppy that was living in the woods with his 6 litter mates . He was very nippy due to low human contact , pulling on leash, and cried for hours in a crate. I called Jason and he couldn’t have been more patient and knowledgeable in guiding me on how to correct these behaviors. I quickly realized I did not have the time ( working full time and mother of two very active children) to train this puppy myself . I was overwhelmed to say the least . We decided that investing in the two week board and train program with Jason was the best choice. My husband and I went back and forth on whether or not this was a good idea as we had just adopted him and only had for 10 days at this point. We felt guilty for some weird reason. Jason assured us that it was best for our puppy to come to him now as he will not form bad habits that he will then have to reverse/ correct. Jason sent us almost daily pics and videos of our puppy progressing. Our puppy looked happy to be there accomplishing goals daily ! When we picked up our sweet pup two weeks later it was truly unbelievable what he was able to accomplish with him in such a short time frame. He handed back a calm, well mannered, confident dog. Jason is very loving towards the dogs he trains and we appreciated that so much! He also took two hours with our whole family reviewing all commands and training techniques to ensure we could continue the training at home. We literally couldn’t be happier with the experience. Do yourself and your puppy a favor and invest the money for a two week board and train with Jason. You will not regret it!!!

We recently completed a two-week off-leash dog training program with Jason at K9 Functional Training, and the results have been amazing. Our 4-month-old golden retriever, Sully, came home a completely transformed pup—calm, focused, and responsive to commands. The very next day, we took Sully to the beach and a restaurant, and he was the most well-behaved dog there!
