For the sake of transparency: Slip leads are used in a safety-only capacity during puppy socials to ensure handlers can quickly and gently intervene if necessary. This is standard industry practice in many training facilities nationwide (dog trainers, animal control, groomers, and rescues). At no point are puppies left to “strangle themselves.” Our trainers are trained professionals who closely supervise interactions to prevent any risk of harm. However dogs and dogs and love to pull on leash (regardless of what is used) until they are taught what a leash is and what it means. Slip leads are multifunctional and can adapted to what is needed without need of other tools. Equipment recommendations—including slip leads, flat collars, or harnesses—are always tailored to the individual dog’s needs and used responsibly, with welfare and safety as our top priorities. We respect that pet owners may have different philosophies about equipment and training. However, our team is made up of certified and trained professionals with years of experience and a strong reputation in the community. Our clients choose us because of our commitment to safe, structured, and positive learning environments. While we welcome constructive feedback from those who have actually experienced our programs, we also encourage prospective clients to visit us in person, observe our classes, and speak with our trainers directly rather than forming opinions based on secondhand assumptions.
