K9 Etiquette School

If you are looking for a truly knowledgeable professional to train your dog, K9 Etiquette School is the place to go. Shawn would be my first and only recommendation for your training needs! My 3 year old Great Pyrenees came to Shawn with several concerning behaviors such as resource guarding and extreme reactivity to dogs and strangers. Taking my dog to the vet was nearly impossible and my prior vet required him to be fully sedated under anesthesia and muzzled for exams, vaccines, and nail trims. Visitors coming to my home was a nightmare and I was not comfortable taking my dog out in public. He was also extremely reactive in the car and would attempt to jump out the window when passing dogs or people walking. My dog spent three weeks with Shawn and the difference in his behavior after training has been remarkable. Shawn then provides follow up lessons after boarding and has given me the tools to set my dog up for success for every situation we encounter. I have spent countless hours working with Shawn and he has been incredibly patient answering all of my questions and getting me to a comfortable place with my dog. Shawn has come to my home, my parent’s home to teach us to manage my dog’s food aggression with my parent’s dog, and our new vet. With Shawn’s expertise and training, my dog can now successfully go to the vet unmuzzled with no sedation and accompany me everywhere I go! Training has given my dog and I both a fuller, happier life! If I ever go out of town and need to board my dog, I know he will be well taken care of, safe, and happy with Shawn. I would not let the waitlist deter you from K9 Etiquette School as it shows the extensive time Shawn puts into the dogs as well as how strong his clientele is. His prices are very fair and lower than most trainers in the area. My only regret is not taking my dog to him sooner. I can’t say enough good things about our experience! I’m sure he’s great at what he does like everyone says, but we can’t even get a reply. They were recommended by multiple people we know, but we have been trying to get ahold of them for a month as of tomorrow. Emails, calls/voicemails, text, & FB messenger. If they’re booked up or something, it’s totally understandable, but a simple reply saying that isn’t hard & is just good business. If anything changes I will be sure to update my review.

We went to Shawn to help resolve some food aggression and barking issues in our 3 yo corgi and just some basic training for our new puppy. Our experience from the beginning to the end has been excellent. Although I initially thought it was a bit pricey, after going through the training, honestly don’t think he charged us enough! Shawn is very informative, professional and patient. We had specific issues we came to him with and not only have those issues resolved but he helped address problems our dogs had we were not expecting to get resolved. We also have very demanding work schedules and Shawn stayed very flexible, allowing us to do weekend sessions and late evening sessions. Would highly recommend for any kind of dog training or behavioral issues.
