K9 Etiquette School

Hands down the BEST investment YOU can make for YOUR dog. While not everyone will have this same situation I want to give you some insight into what we were able to witness and achieve with our dog by working with K9 Etiquette School / Shawn. My wife and I adopted a two and a half year old dog that had ran away on a few different occasions, had severe anxiety, & had a severe lack of confidence. We were in desperate need of some guidance and expertise from a professional in the space which lead us to start looking for our options. We did our due diligence and contacted a number of different dog trainers most of whom we read reviews on to get some feedback and initial discussion but K9 Etiquette School / Shawn right away impressed us with how he suggested we approach our delicate situation. Shawn had made a couple of at home visits with us and our dog to first understand & observe the exact behaviors of our dog and to also provide some quick changes that we could implement immediately help start building up our dogs confidence. Shortly following this initial visit we sit down with Shawn to review his recommendations and options for what he felt would ultimately give our dog her best outcome for success. My wife and I decided pretty quickly on moving forward with K9 Etiquette School's Advanced Off Lease Training Course. We knew that for the longevity our dog's life we would love to know exactly we can build up her confidence while also having the ability to trust her to no longer run away and have a constant recall. Needless to say the training did absolute wonders. We were incredibly impressed with how our Shawn was able to build up our dog's confidence so much so that she went from never wanting to interact with other dog's to now being super curious as to what's going on and has made a number of new furry friends. When the doorbell rings she no longer runs and hides but instead she runs to the stairs to see who's trying to come in. When we have guests over while she used to go upstairs and sit in the dark, she now hangs out with everyone. It's truly night and day, all thanks to K9 Etiquette School & Shawn. While our dog's training went fantastic, it's imperative to note that this course is not only training for the dog but it also consisted of a number of 1 on 1 sessions we had over the course of a couple of months where we would work with Shawn in a controlled environment so he could teach us on how to empower our dog & appropriately learn all of the ins and outs to each of the commands so that we could continue the success he had established through this course. This is the biggest key to success. And really goes to show how much effort K9 Etiquette School / Shawn puts into the different courses. Lastly, once we had completed our sessions with K9 Etiquette School & Shawn we still to this day work with him on an as needed basis for his dog boarding. He does a fantastic job keeping us informed if we have any questions and we know we can trust our dog will have a great time with him and the other pups he has!!

I could not be happier with K-9 Etiquette! Shawn worked with my dog on the off leash program and was patient with him and ME when teaching me all I needed to know to continue with training. He truly cares about the welfare and life enhancement of the pets he trains. He is extremely knowledgeable and freely shares this knowledge when teaching. I will continue to go to him for any training needs and would never think of changing trainers.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with Shawn. Hands down one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and passionate dog trainers out there. Shawn visited our home to not only meet our dog Anchor but to study and observe his behavior. We were very nervous to have Anchor spend two weeks away from home, but Shawn worked with us not only to make us comfortable but also make sure Anchor would enjoy his stay. He created a plan specific to our dog to target the bad behaviors and correct them. Shawn explained the how and the why behind our dog’s behavior, which made the entire process feel empowering instead of overwhelming. Our dog went from an overly confident trouble maker to a much more calm and responsive companion. Shawn broke things down in a way that made sense, gave us homework, and always kept it positive and respectful toward both us and our pup. Anchor has come such a long way from where he was prior and we owe that progress to the expert guidance we received here. Highly recommend to anyone who wants real results and a better relationship with their dog!
