K9 Control Training

One of the best dog training experiences I've had. I've used other trainers and have gotten back only a slightly improved best friend. My dog was a rescue that suffered from anxiety and aggression and K9 Control was able to restore the confidence and security my pup had lost. They kept me updated throughout the whole process and at pickup they showed me everything I needed to know to keep the training fresh in my pups mind. I'll never use another trainer again. We adopted a puppy from the humane society - after 8 months of doing our very best to teach him different skills and commands we decided that we needed professional reinforcement, beyond the typical six (one hour sessions) at the local pet store. We had a sweet puppy..that was growing bigger and stronger each day, and going hiking became more of a challenge than an escape for me with trying to 'hold him down'. I did hours and hours of research and reached out via email to K-9 Control Training. I received both a prompt and extremely thoughtful response- that made me comfortable enough to scheduled a consultation. Upon being at the facility for ten minutes, the owner asked permission to walk our puppy - within 5 minutes our puppy was walking like a gentleman and then spent the next two hours sitting quietly at the owner's feet while the owner, trainer and office manager spent 2 hours with me answering all my questions. After observing how well our puppy did in just five minutes we made the decision to move forward with the 4 week boarding/training program. This was a big committment for me - following week one we received our first video and written report - I was able to take a collective breath of relief - the first thing I observed is that my boy looked very happy and it was obvious that he felt both safe and loved by his trainer- that alone made me feel confident in my decision - then watching the video and progress he had made was honestly astonishing- I truly believed that the staff must have pixie dust in their pockets to get our doggie to walk well, follow commands and behave. The next several weeks were even better- each week we were in awe of the changes we were seeing on video. We committed to reading and watching whatever training books we could - determined not to ruin any of magic that our puppy was learning. We picked up our puppy today who is 9 months old- and WOW is all we could say.. the manager who was our puppies trainor/ Hannah- spent nearly three hours with us answering every question, demonstrating the skillls and reassuring us that she and the staff would be our life long friends. Hannah is truly an expert in the field- incredibly knowledgeable about the psychology of animal behaviorism with an inate ability to share and model how we can reinforce all that our doggie has learned at home. I am not sure Hannah realizes the gift she has given us...first off - my spouse has an above the knee amputation, watching our doggie walk carefully and attentively at my husbands side and listening to each command truly gave me more joy than this season could offer..and for me- Hannah has opened up years of hiking and outdoor adventues to look forward to with my doggie- which is my 'soul' source of stress relief. I asked to take a picture of her and our doggie before we left...just like I asked the doctor who delivered our children to take a picture with them...the experience was just that special...we are thankful to Owen, Hannah and Olivia and all the staff for the great care..this has already been the best investment we have made and best gift of the season.

My dog Roo spent 5 weeks with the fine folks at Complete K9 Control Training. He came back to me a calm, obedient, and happy dog. I am forever grateful. I took Roo on a long hike this morning. Several people commented on what a well trained dog he is. Roo will have a much happier existence for the remainder of his life thanks to this place. If/when I ever get another dog he will be trained by Owen, Lauren, and the rest of the staff.
