JPK9 Academy

We couldn’t be happier with JPK9Academy and our puppies training progress! We started training Maggie (our now 4 mos. old Cavapoo) with Juan (JPK9Academy) the first week Maggie came to our home. Juan listened to what our goals were with Maggie and put together a custom plan that we have built on week by week. At each lesson we work on what is next, then get to practice and get feedback with Juan present. After each one on on session, Juan texted us with a re-cap of items we were to focus on for the week. This helped us in learning all the new things! Having never formally trained our dogs before, we were surprised my Juan’s simple - yet super effective method to communicate with our Maggie and teach her new things. We have also learned more about how dogs learn so that we can adjust our approach when we need to fix a behavior. Yes, we do have to do the work when Juan isn’t around, but knowing what to focus on, and how to make it fun and encouraging for Maggie has been SO valuable! We love that JPK9Academy has group classes which we are about to start soon to socialize Maggie and we also love that there are exclusive opportunities to board with JPK9Academy if we leave town. We are thrilled to have found JPK9Academy and the investment in training our dog properly has been priceless!

When we first got Gunner as a puppy we made the mistake of not training as much as we should have. We had no idea the behaviors Gunner would take on eventually. With nowhere to turn we finally found Juan at JPK9 Academy and it literally saved our lives and Gunner’s too! I never would’ve thought it possible to have Gunner sit or lay down in a car without barking or trying to hop in front nor did we ever think we would be able to walk him on a leash or take him around other dogs and children ever. With the training and guidance that Juan has given us we have finally been able to take Gunnar into crowded places, walk next to children and dogs without reaction (most of the time), not take food out of our hands while eating, as well as actually relax in our household. While we still have so much ahead of us in regards to Gunnar‘s training we just wanted to give a shout out and say thank you to probably the most dedicated and greatest obedience and behavioral trainer in probably all of Northern California. We called Juan after one of our dogs, Blaze (4-year-old GSD mix), progressively started to show more signs of fear/anxiety and aggression. Not only did Juan take his time to discuss his methods of training, he was also friendly and very knowledgeable. So, we went forward to schedule an evaluation at our home. He assessed everything from our interactions with our dogs, home environment, our needs, and challenges. After we discussed our concerns, Juan provided many suggestions and an individualized plan for us. We went forward with his one-on-one trainings as well as group classes/pack walks (which are super fun for all of us). He brings several different training tools and equipment to have us practice with. After just a private session and a few group classes/pack walks, we saw a huge improvement in Blaze’s behavior (as well as our other 2-year-old Husky, Rayne!). With Juan’s recommendations and guidance, Blaze improved overall with his obedience and fear. We continue to attend group classes because we learn something new every time and they are so much fun! We could not be more grateful for working with Juan. Juan is passionate, knowledgeable, communicative, and honest. I highly recommend JPK9 Academy to ANYONE who wants to effectively train their dogs, small or large, young or old! So worth the time and money to have a competent trainer help you achieve a well-behaved dog to live a quality life with you and your family! See you at group class!! :)

I couldn't be more pleased with the service of JPK9 Academy. When I first called them, I was totally distraught because my two male dogs had started fighting over our female that recently had puppies. When I got my third dog, Ozzie, I didn't think there would be a problem because the male I already had was fixed. I was wrong and when they started fighting, I was devastated. I figured I would have to choose one and rehome the other out of love and concern for both of their safety. In just 2 1/2 weeks, Juan and his team have turned both dogs around. They used to be the best of buddies; Juan and his team are bringing them back to being buddies again. AND, they are training me too to know how to continue their great work. I recommend them to Anyone looking for excellent dog training. This was one of the BEST DECISIONS I have ever made!
