Do you offer private 1 on 1 dog training lessons?
We offer private lessons when they are appropriate for the dog and handler. Not all dogs will be immediately appropriate from private lessons and might be more cost effective to invest in our board & train program. It depends on the specific needs of the handler and the dog.

What is the average length of stay for your Board & Train program?
The average is approximately 2.5 to 3 weeks. Most dogs require more time because by the time the dog owner is calling us, the behaviors have usually gotten pretty bad. We aim to reassure our clients that we provide regular video progress updates as their dog advances through our program.

Do your board & train programs include follow-up lessons?
Yes! There are a total of 4 follow-up lessons included with our program. The first one is completed when you pick up your dog. The remaining 3 must be completed within 2 weeks of picking up your dog. Each session is approximately 20 to 30 minutes but also varies according to the questions being asked.

Every dog is unique and a number of factors would have to be considered including history, temperament, drives, reactivity, who the handlers are, and what the dogs are being trained for, to name a few considerations.

Sir, do you do in house trai ning. I have a 2 yr pamysese, anatolia, kabash combo that is the sweetest bid lap dog in the world physi ally intimidating until it just up puts its paws aroung your neck and hugs you. I want to able to go walk safely
Hi Carole, We offer board and training with four follow-up lessons at our facility. We also offer certain specialized private lessons at our facility for those competing in the sport of Schutzhund. We occasionally offer in-home training for our existing clients who have already completed one of our board & train programs but require additional specialized assistance for their pets that we are already familiar with. I chose have John take him for a short period of time and when he was returned, he was different dog (very much for the better). I recently purchased a trained Dobe from John and my wife and I are very much satisfied. We informed John that we have 2 young grandchildren and John made sure he was well acclimated to being around youngsters. We couldn’t be happier. Bottom line, John is an honest, friendly, extremely likable person. His training is spot on but never critical or condescending. His bio and awards speak for themselves . If you want to enjoy your best friend, I could not recommend him more highly.

John Soares is a true professional. We met John about seven years ago when we brought our female German Shepherd to him for training. When we thought about getting another German Shepherd, we first called John to make sure he was available to train him. Our now 10 month old male is the best trained dog - he listens, behaves, knows all his commands and is an absolute joy to take on a walk. We even brought our stubborn 3 year old Corgi to John and John proved that it’s possible to teach an older dog new tricks. In addition to John’s amazing knowledge of everything about dogs and dog training, he is also incredibly accommodating, accessible, thoughtful and nice and his entire staff is too.
Our one year old black lab, Lincoln, had gone to another trainer at six months old and again at 8 months old, with no success. John is great to work with, and Lincoln has never behaved better. I highly recommend John and his team for any training needs.
