We had such a great experience with John and truly can’t recommend him enough. Maisie spent four weeks with him for board and train, and the difference in her confidence, obedience, and overall behavior has been incredible. From the beginning, John took the time to understand Maisie, her personality, and the specific things we were struggling with. He kept us updated throughout her stay and was always honest and thorough about her progress. When it was time for her to come home, he spent plenty of time teaching us how to continue everything he had worked on so that we felt confident maintaining her training ourselves. What I appreciate most is that the training has translated into real life. We have a much better way to communicate with Maisie, redirect her when needed, and give her structure without changing the goofy, loving dog that we adore. She came home still completely herself, just with so much more confidence and a much better understanding of what we’re asking from her. John clearly cares about the dogs he works with and takes a lot of pride in doing things the right way. Even after Maisie came home, he has continued to be available for questions and support, which means a lot. Sending your dog away for training is a huge decision, and we are so happy we trusted John with Maisie. The results have absolutely been worth it, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely dedicated trainer.

I cannot recommend John’s board and train program highly enough. From the very beginning, the professionalism, communication, and genuine care for my dog exceeded every expectation. Sarge (1 year old German shepherd) would listen when he wanted to, was a digger, chewed everything in my house (including us), reactive to dogs and knocked me down walking him a few times (he’s 100 pounds). When I tell you the transformation has been remarkable I am not exaggerating. Sarge returned home calmer, more confident, and responsive to commands, but what impressed me most was that the training wasn’t just about obedience—it was about building trust and creating lasting behaviors. John and his staff took the time to understand Sarge’s personality and tailored the program to fit his needs. While Sarge was away John sent videos of his progress which gave me complete confidence that he was in excellent hands. When it was time to bring him home, we were thoroughly taught how to maintain the training, making this transition smooth and successful. John is passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to helping both dogs and their owners to succeed. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and delivers outstanding results, I wholeheartedly recommend this board and train program. I had already spent a lot of money on trainers with no results. Sure he could sit give the paw but I was at my wits end because we could not enjoy Sarge. He had no off switch and this program changed everything!!!! If I knew about this program I would have never done the other trainers and just done this one. Stop right now if you're looking for a trainer for your dog. You will NOT find someone more passionate and in tune with dogs than John. Things started with a brief phone consultation where I explained to John my situation of recently adopting Russ, a 2-year-old male GSD who was thrust from a life with an older couple into my family home with all ages and stages and lots of activity. John had so much knowledge and experience from the get-go that I felt an immediate sense of relief. I brought Russ to meet John for an in-person assessment to determine what training was needed. John IMMEDIATELY got a sense of where Russ was and what was needed to make Russ a functioning member of his new family. Russ stayed with John for a 4-week board-and-train. John kept me updated on his progress and sent photos and videos. When I picked Russ up, he was happy, regulated, and fully prepared to re-enter his new family. The most important part of our training experience with John is that he provided us with several "people training" sessions after Russ came home. John showed us that successful training isn't just about the dog, it's about teaching people how to be good owners. These sessions gave my family the confidence and skills we needed to help Russ continue thriving in our home. John genuinely cares about every dog he works with and is deeply invested in creating lasting success for both the dog and the family. Adopting Russ was a major transition for my family, and thanks to John's guidance, patience, and expertise, Russ has become a happy, well-adjusted member of our family. I cannot even begin to explain in writing the type of trainer John is. This man sees beyond the veil of dog training, and into an entire different level that most don't even come close to understanding. John is not just a dog trainer. He is YOUR dogs trainer. He understands your dogs behavior on a level that you would not think possible. He trains dogs based on their individual personality while taking into account, breed, temperament, age, intelligence, etc. I own a young Dogo Argentino that if left in the wrong hands could turn into not only a handful, but an actual dangerous liability. My dog came back from a 4 week board and train a completely different animal. Before he was restless, destructive, and only listened when he felt like it. He is now calm and obedient. There is still more work to be done, but I trust John with my dog's life. This dog is like a son to me, and I leave him in John's care without blinking an eye. TAKE THIS REVIEW AS A SIGN.
