​As a former K9 narcotics handler, I went into this Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class thinking I had seen it all and knew every trick in the book. However, Jared’s approach truly impressed me. Training a high-drive working dog is one thing, but working with a rescue comes with its own unique set of challenges. ​Jared’s thoughtful and patient methodology was exactly what we needed. He helped us navigate through some specific "hang-ups" our rescue boy, Raider, was experiencing with a level of insight that I found refreshing. Jared understands dog psychology and tailors his coaching to the individual dog’s needs. ​Thanks to this class, Raider passed with flying colors and is officially a Canine Good Citizen. Raider is excited to head to work at Colgate University and start putting his new certification into practise. Thinking about taking your dog to class with Jared ? Quit thinking, and just do it! I started taking my Ruthie to class with Jared to help build her confidence. After a couple solo classes and some Lowe's trips (if you ever need to go to Lowe's, just tell him 😂) we quickly moved on to group class. We looked forward to group class weekly, a great way to socialize your dog with a variety of different dogs at various stages in their training, which is very beneficial to your training. Jared's training is so easy to implement, you will be shown methods that are so simple that my 10 year old daughter even would participate in class and helps working with her at home. These classes will give you the tools to last you your lifetime to always have an obedient, well behaved dog. I also take Ruthie to Jared for boarding, so class is a great way to get your dog comfortable with Jared if you ever consider boarding. My Ruthie is selectively social but she trusts Jared and is always happy to see him . Although we have graduated, we will still be participating in group class hopefully monthly!!

We brought our 4 month chocolate lab, Heidi, to Jared for training as I had read very good reviews. We have been extremely fortunate to have found him. He is concrete and gives great insights on canine behavior. Heidi loves him ! Also we are very comfortable with him. Has a great sense of humor and a genuine love for dogs. And he is terrific at really "training" the dog parents 😁. Jared asks about any issues or concern and always gives a sensible solution. Heidi is 6 months old now and well on her way to being a good canine citizen. Thank you Jared! We highly recommend Jared Horton's K9.
