Janice Z Dog Training

Janice was a great help to us over 4 sessions working to understand & improve the "very big feelings" in our 2.5 year old rescue with recently onset anxiety and random aggression issues. She is organized, observant and realistic. Janice has equipped us with great skills to help make her a less reactionary, more responsible 4-legged neighbor as well as resources when there's no single, straight-forward "cure".

We and our golden retriever puppy worked with Janice over six sessions in her in-person behavior essentials program. We appreciated her experience and calm demeanor with our pup. Janice is organized and provides detailed homework plans after each session which made it easy to practice with our pup between sessions. We learned a great deal from Janice and feel confident that we will be able to continue working with our pup to maintain and refresh the behaviors she learned from Janice using the road map she provided. Janice is very knowledgeable and provides great resources for pet owners. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for behavioral assistance with their dog.

My pups Kiwi and Poppy had Janice come for weekly in-home training course with Janice the past 4 weeks and I can't recommend her enough. From the initial meet-and-greet, I felt she truly understood my goals for training and very quickly had a sense of each dogs unique personality, which allowed her to be able to tailor her lessons to each dogs learning style. I am so impressed with how quickly they learned with Janice's techniques, which I was able to practice with them in between sessions because of Janice's detailed "homework" she would send after each session with training plans. Her evaluations are thorough and articulate and she was always willing to answer any of my questions both during sessions and during the week (she is accessible via email and text). We will miss having Janice come to work with us each week, but I plan to do a couple follow up sessions in the fall to further my dogs training.

Janice gave us great tips and tools to reinforce good behavior in our somewhat high strung pup, including ways to divert her attention when dealing with big feelings and dog reactivity on walks, plus a potentially life saving recall word, to which our dog just loves to respond since it results in a very tasty treat. We feel much better prepared to shepherd our hound through life with Janice's help.
