My dog rolled over on the ground, wagged her tail like mad, and cried out in excitement upon seeing one of the employees here. If that's not a five star review, I don't know what is.

It's taken me a very long time to choose to write this review. I've had a heavy heart as I've tried desperately to get mt once happy pup back...But here goes. I decided to do a board and train with them. Was promised I was going to meet with pepe when I dropped my dog off but miraculously he was out of town. His daughter who runs it when he's gone is very unprofessional and told me I shouldn't have my dog there. She promised me he would call me the next day with an update on her first day. I waited all day to give them time. But towards the end of the day I called because I hadn't heard anything. When I asked the daughter never relayed the information. So I was never going to be called. I started to get a bad feeling so I started to go get my dog. On my way I received a call from someone else saying that my dog would be ready whenever I could come get her. Because they felt that they weren't a good fit and couldn't meet my needs. When all I asked was for them to keep their promises while they had possession of my family member. When I got there before 5 pepe had left right before I pulled up so he wouldn't even face me. They had a refund check that was printed completely for the day I dropped her off. When I got her she wasn't acting normal. After we got home she was urinating blood and was SEVERELY dehydrated it's sad to say that I firmly believe my dog was abused while in their "care".

I was told that my dog (5.5 yo great dane, named Sylvanas) needed to have a training session before she would be allowed to board there. OK, that was fine, I understood that. I took her to a 1 hour training that cost aprx $100. This was in April, 2022. The training went well and the trainer, Brian, was complimentary of my dog's behavior. He recommended I get a different collar to use with her, which I bought from them. Brian didn't really give me much to work on with Sylvanas outside of just seeing how she would react to different situations using the new collar. I did not learn any new training techniques to try with Sylvanas during her training with Brian. I left the training feeling proud of my dog's good behavior and the fact that I have already done so much training with her myself, that we were given compliments by Brian. Another training was mentioned, but not scheduled and I left feeling as tho it was optional. I was told Sylvanas would be allowed to now board there. August, 2022 I called to schedule boarding for Sylvanas in October for 5 days. I spoke with Courtney and she put Sylvanas on their calendar. I received an email afterwards telling me Sylvanas would need to go to a "follow-up" training before she would be allowed to board there. I immediately called and asked why? Hannah tried to explain to me that "...after a little bit of time..." they wanted to see how my training with her was going before allowing her to be boarded. I told her that Brian didn't really give me anything to work on, other than observing how Sylvanas reacted to the new collar and that I was told she was already set to go to be boarded. Questions: what does "little bit of time" mean? Obviously that is an unclear statement and could mean different amounts of time to different people. Also, if there is such a time frame, why wouldn't I be told that at the time of the first training? I told Hannah that I had already taken Sylvanas to the hour long training and nowhere on their website does it say multiple trainings are required or anything about time between trainings prior to boarding. I know Pepe's pricing has all gone up recently across the board (no pun intended), but requiring another training session, unexpectedly and after being complemented on my dogs behavior during and after the first training session feels to me like they are just trying to get more money out of me. As a responsible owner, I obviously want to and do give my dog the best of everything I can. I was even willing to pay the increase in boarding fees (which would have been in excess of $300 for the time we needed), but when they are requiring something that was not mentioned prior, is not necessary (we had already been given approval), and just seems to be a way for them to make extra money -- well, they now have an opening in October and have lost a customer who would have been long term, and any referrals I used to give out.
