Teaching family dog obedience, great listening, and great manners is what we do!
There is no reason for any dog owner to put up with unwanted behaviors. Letting unwanted behaviors and even mild annoyances go unchecked leads to stress and resentment. That’s not why we get dogs! We get dogs because we want more enjoyment out of life and we want to share that enjoyment with our companion.
To give our dog the best life possible, they need to be education on how to listen to you and on the basic rules and boundaries of life. That way, they have great manners, no nuisance behaviors, and are enjoyable to be around.
In our Richmond-based training, we teach and train the dog’s owner so you can develop the right knowledge and skills.

I was not able to take my dog out in public three months ago. Ghost would bark incessantly, lunged at other dogs, and get to a point where he could not bring his anxiety down. I felt defeated and sad for him. I saw CJ‘s post on Facebook and thought I had nothing to lose. Prior trainings hadn’t worked so this was one last ditch effort. I can now enjoy walks in my neighborhood and take him in public without feeling embarrassed, or making others around me, feel uncomfortable in his presence. I have full control over my dog and feel comfortable having him go places with me. There is not another program or Trainer I would recommend.

We adopted/rescued an australian cattle dog/english shepherd mix, Jackson, that had a very rough start in life. We were his 4th home in 7 or 8 months. Came with a myriad of issues including not housebroken, zero manners, extremely fearful yet aggressive to other dogs, joggers, bicycles etc. Hackles from neck to tail up at people and dogs. He growled and snapped (twice) at our general contractor. YIKES!! NOT a good situation and I was beginning to second guess my decision to adopt him. He was a hot mess! I have obedience trained dogs in the past for the ring, but Jackson was a whole 'nuther matter. Contacted CJ and during our consult, Jackson cowered behind me, tail tucked under to his stomach. Within a few lessons of CJ guiding us, Jax was a totally different dog! CJ addressed Jackson's issues in a logical manner, tailored our lessons to work weak spots, and helped us help him become a GREAT dog. At week 4, he now passes by people and dogs without so much as a glance, knows his commands and manners, sitting quietly watching people and bicycles go by, and has some SOOOO far! Granted, you have to put in the work, as there is no magic wand. I'd highly recommend CJ - He knows what he's doing and I'm sure can help whatever issue you're having. He's patient and will answer any question that comes up between training sessions. DO IT, DO IT. DO IT!
