Integra Dog Training

My dog, Murphy, and I have been training with Rachel for seven months. The first conversation I had with Rachel, I was in tears. As a Rescue, Murphy was still adjusting to my ownership and his new environment. I was also learning how to be an owner that could be the best for him. He showed signs of reactivity; growling and snapping at certain people. While working with Rachel one-on-one and within groups, Murphy began to trust me more and I learned how to read his body language and distinguish one bark sound from another. Throughout the time in training, we realized Murphy is not a reactive dog, but rather a picky social dog, making it clear who he is comfortable around and who he’s not. Murphy has continued his training into trick and agility classes. He is a remarkable dog, and Rachel helped me see that.

I was on the verge of tears, the day I was informed my two year old Aussie/Lab mix was not being a good citizen at doggie daycare. He was guarding resources, dominating other dogs, and had zero recall. Now, after working with Rachel @Integra Dog Training, he’s a gentleman that sits and waits at doorways, until I walk through first and release him. He greets others, while sitting. He heels beside me as we go grocery shopping. He sits or downs and stays, while I walk away and out of sight, until I return to him and he is released. Most importantly, when I call him, he comes running to me and lands a sit in front of me. Rachel tailored our training to our life, visiting our home and addressing any issues or specific needs. She even taught him to safely enjoy kayak fishing with me. In the past month, my dog has been completely transformed into an amazing companion and I have been taught the tools to properly handle an intelligent, confident dog that has incredible drive. My dog is happier, with the consistent structure and leadership. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results!
