Gather around… I have something important to bark about. Believe it or not, even this adorable face needed a little help with manners. (Shocking, I know. 😇) I’ve been a proud student—and Fur-Ever friend—of James at Ilio Canine Care since I was just 4 months old. I’m a big girl now at 7 months old, and I’ve learned so much! Sit, stay, place, leave it… and apparently I’m not supposed to use Mom’s shoes as chew toys. Who knew? 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 The best part? Mr. James never gives up on me. If I don’t understand something, he doesn’t get frustrated—he simply finds another way to teach me until it finally clicks in this stubborn little Basset brain. 🐶❤️ He’s patient, kind, super knowledgeable, and he makes learning fun for both pups and our humans. I give Ilio Canine Care ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐… Or should I say… 🐾🐾🐾🐾 (that’s FOUR PAWS UP!) plus a whole bunch of slobbery puppy kisses! 😘🐾💦 So… what are you waiting for? Go nudge your human, wag that tail extra hard, and tell them it’s time to call James. James is a very warm and passionate trainer who truly pays attention to details. On the very first day he met our dog Rocky, he took the time to understand our whole family situation and carefully noted everything, so he could design a training plan tailored specifically to us. Since we have a young child at home, he even included a separate session for our kid to learn how to interact with dogs safely, which we really appreciated. What impressed me the most is that he’s not just trying to train the dog. He’s constantly observing, adjusting, and problem solving based on real-life situations as they come up. His approach feels very personalized and practical. He also records key parts of the training sessions so we can revisit them anytime, which is incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated dog trainer.

I recently adopted a 1-year-old pup that was born deaf. Training with James was specially targeted for me and Bailey. The training was done in our home. Together, we developed hand commands for her, and worked in our environment. At first, we walked in our neighborhood and then we even met on Main Street to practice walking in a crowd. In the consultation James will find out your needs and areas to work on in training. It's never too late ... don't think you could only use his training for a puppy.

James is an excellent trainer. I went to 3 others before meeting him. My dog Zoe liked him and listened to him from day one. He understands what motivates the dog and gives great advice when training difficult concepts. She is not perfect and it took James a while to help me relies it’s a process not a destination. While I have high expectations most people are very impressed with my Zoe’s behavior and training. She has passed the Canine Good Citizen and Therapy dog test on her first try. I have referred James to everyone I know who has a dog that needs training. What ever you do don’t believe those who say you need a shock collar to train a puppy. You only need to learn how to teach your dog what you want. James can help you learn how to do that in a positive and successful way.
