Hunter Canine Dog Training

We sent our bernedoodle to live and train with Taylor at Hunter Canine. We met with Hunter at our home and he suggested the live and train program, we originally were thinking just private lessons. Our dog was a very excited and out of control puppy, anything you can think of she did, including pulling our real Christmas tree down! Her worst habit being counter surfing, we had to put baby gates up to keep her out of our kitchen and we couldn’t keep anything on any tables or bookshelves within her reach. After her 4 weeks with Taylor we now have a much calmer dog who doesn’t even attempt to jump up onto the counters. She is still the same sweet excited puppy just with good manners now! Well worth the investment, best choice we ever made was doing the live and train program. Taylor is an awesome trainer and we know she loved on our dog like she was one of her own!

If it wasn’t for Hunter we would not have been able to keep our full bred Pitbull Gunnar. Gunnar was defiant, disobedient and showed aggression towards us on multiple occasions. Hunter was extremely patient and gave us clear tools to help Gunnar be the best dog he could be. He was always extremely responsive to answer my messages as well. There is no other dog trainer who will care more about your dog and their progress than Hunter and his team.

Chance attended Live & Train in September 2024 with trainer Taylor. Chance learned so much and we were given tools and knowledge to continue proofing and adding additional training. Additionally, Chance has a medical condition which made us nervous to be apart for 4 weeks but Taylor took the very best care of him and communicated frequently. When we add a second dog to the household, we’ll be making the 1.5+ hr drive to have them attend Live & Train as well :)

A friend came across Hunter Canine and passed along the info to help my family find support for our already 5 year old pup. Our family dog had been kicked out of multiple boarding facilities, even unwelcome at an animal hospital due to fear aggressive behaviors. We started feeling unsafe with him around our neighborhood as he was very reactive on a leash. Our vet said “some dogs are just born that way,” gave us some anxiety meds and we were settled on that. Until we reached out to Hunter! Hunter met Captain and sure enough he displayed his typical fear aggressive behaviors. Hunter assured all hope was NOT lost. We did a couple training sessions with him, we tried some new things at home, but ultimately we bit the bullet for a Live & Train with Hunter. After 6 weeks, Captain came home with new standards for living! His leash manners did a 180, he could now pass by people and other dogs with obedience and respect! We’re already feeling more comfortable with having guests around Captain, trusting him, and ensuring a safe space for all. We are so grateful for our time with Hunter, enabling us to have an enjoyable life with our pup!

Hazy is our first bully breed and we were struggling with some behavior issues. After some unpleasant interactions with our neighbor's kids (that we hadn't been aware was happening), he had gotten reactive with strangers, and his reactivity to dogs got worse as he got older. He also would absolutely drag us on walks. We chose Hunter because of his understanding and love for bullies. I had seriously thought we were going to need a board and train, but in five private sessions, Hunter gave us the tools we needed to work with Hazy and completely changed our relationship with him. So I'll be forever grateful to Hunter and his team for showing us how to communicate with Hazy and help him be the great dog we knew he could be.
