Hunter Canine Dog Training

Rosalie is a dog whisperer. She is an excellent dog trainer. She knows how to earn the trust and love of the dogs she trains, while she does an excellent job of training! Our dog lived with her for a month and we knew he was in excellent hands! Rosalie takes and sends the best pictures. Toby no longer nips and jumps on everyone, and has learned how to play without getting overstimulated. He’s almost a new dog, in the best possible way! Rosalie has answered all of our questions even after Toby came home. I believe she genuinely wants him to succeed! We highly recommend Rosalie—especially for pets that seem difficult to train!!

Our boy Leonard was about 5 months old when he started displaying reactivity to other dogs. We immediately began working with a local trainer who is a friend/old coworker of mine. His reactivity developed into severe aggression to other dogs he did not already know. It got to the point where daily walks were not enjoyable. He would hyperfixate, pull incessantly, and growl/bark at dogs across the street or even through the window from inside the house. After he had bit a dog he met previously we knew we needed to do something and our friend/local trainer highly recommended live and train with Hunter. We were so torn at the thought of sending our dog away for any prolonged amount of time. I’ve been in the veterinary field for a decade and have always been by my pets side for every step of their care so it was a new concept for me. After the first consultation with Hunter, we knew immediately it was the best decision. Leonard was in a 4 week long program and while it was difficult being away from him we would 100% do it all over again. The progress he made was better than we could imagine. He even learned how to properly play with new dogs! Daily walks are actually enjoyable now. It’s obvious he is way more at ease and he’s able to navigate around dogs without any type of reaction. While he has always been eager while training, it’s even easier now. Hunter provided us with the tools to help Leonard further excel after the program. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I look forward to continuing to work with Hunter and pursuing group classes/activities in the future!

Hunter Canine Dog Training is the ONLY dog training company I will trust with our fur baby. From the first evaluation with Hunter I knew right from the gate that he knew what he was doing. The passion he had when talking about our sweet belle and the confidence he had put my mind at ease. Belle was a VERY reactive dog on the leash with other dogs and people, that we weren’t able to walk her or take her places with us like we wanted too. She was also extremely fearful of men, very reactive when anyone would come close to our house and would also urinate when people would come into our house. My husband and I felt defeated and I was terrified that she couldn’t be “fixed.” Over the course of a few months Hunter was able to train US so we could give her the confidence that she needed to thrive. I spent a number of years trying to find a solid dog trainer in this area and never had any luck finding someone that was good with challenging dogs, or working on anything past the basics. Then a friend passed along the contact for Hunter Canine. I had several conversations with Hunter on social media and knew right away he was going to be able to help me, but at that time, I put off the financial commitment thinking that things were currently manageable. In the back of my mind I thought, “you need to do this now and not wait until something happens.” But, waiting is exactly what I did. A year later Rogan got injured and had an incredibly traumatic experience at the vet. He became so terrified we could barely sedate him to look at his injured foot. His anxiety was so high that after 4 hours and 3 tries of various cocktails of drugs, he still couldn’t be examined. I was sent home with pain meds for him and just had to cross my fingers that his foot wasn’t broken and that it would heal ok on its own. It was then that I knew I could no longer wait for help building this dog’s confidence back up. While I hated the idea of sending my dog away for month, it was the best decision and investment I’ve ever made for him. Along with loose leash walking and taking Rogan out to public places, within one week Hunter had him up on a grooming table doing his nails. It sounds like a small thing but this was a dog that wouldn’t let the vets even touch him, let alone handle his feet. It was a huge accomplishment. My next concern was what happens if problems start to show up again at home after all that work? I realize that it will take ongoing work to keep Rogan’s confidence up and what happens if I have another vet problem? Hunter reassured me that his clients are life long clients and that he and his other trainers will always available to help, as well as having the option for private and/or group lessons. What stands out the most to me is Hunter’s talent and commitment to high standards. The quality of service provided was exceptional, and it is evident that he takes great pride in delivering results that exceed expectations. I highly recommend Hunter Canine!
