Hunter Canine

Hunter Canine has been fantastic for us and our dog. We’ve done everything from obedience classes, to board-and-train, and their holiday retreat boarding, and every experience has been amazing! Our dog’s behavior has improved so much, and it’s clear how much they genuinely care about each dog’s development. They’ve really helped our dog grow into such a well-behaved, confident, and happy dog. My husband and I also truly feel like better, more confident dog owners because of everything we’ve learned from them. We feel so lucky to have found Hunter Canine and can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking for high-quality training and care! We enrolled our golden doodle in the 3 week training program and could not be happier with the result. Luda jumped on people and did not know how to play well with other dogs. She was over-exuberant and did not read other dogs’ cues—creating a potentially dangerous situation. We hoped to change these behaviors, and to ensure she behaved well enough to walk down the aisle at our wedding. Violet and the team at Hunter Canine corrected these issues and transformed her into a model dog. And, we are happy to report that she walked down the aisle and stayed in a down stay, perfectly behaved, at our recent wedding.

Thank goodness for Hunter Canine! My rescue Maya, a German shepherd/lab mix, had SO much anxiety. Storm anxiety, wind anxiety, scared of bikes, motorcycles, other noises, constantly pacing in the house, belly crawling away when spooked on walks, pulling, jumping up on me and pawing at me whenever I tried to sit and relax…All of this all day long, every day. I began to think, after almost two years of training, calming treats, trying meds, everything, I might not be able to keep her. I didn’t want to be in a constant battle with my dog, or for her to be constantly uncomfortable and upset. I was beside myself. Board and Train with Hunter and eCollar training has saved us both. She’s not a perfectly calm dog all the time, BUT she knows how to cope with things better, and knows what’s expected of her, and so do I. We work together now and we both have more calm and peace. I can’t say enough good things about this dog training experience. From the very first session, it was clear that Abbey truly understands canine behavior and knows how to communicate effectively with both dogs and their owners. The training methods were positive, patient, and incredibly effective. Lilo not only learned important commands and better manners, but also became more confident and calm in everyday situations. What impressed me the most was how personalized the training was. Abbey took the time to understand Lilo’s personality, energy level, and specific challenges, then built a plan that actually worked for us. Every lesson was clear, practical, and easy to continue practicing at home. The results have been amazing. Walks are now enjoyable instead of stressful, and Lilo responds reliably to commands. I also feel much more confident as an owner because I understand how to guide and reinforce good behavior. If you’re looking for professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring dog training, I highly recommend this service.
