Hunter Canine

Most remarkable transformation I have ever seen in 30 years of teaching school. Mia is an amazing trainer. She taught Missy she was not a kangaroo, hopping and dragging me forward at the end of the leash. Now she is a delight to walk….at my side, sits when I stop. She is no longer a vampire drawing my blood or a crazed zooming monster but a 8 month old Golden Retriever who is in desperate need of a nap. She loves stretching out on her “Place Mat” for our “regain sanity time.” (Previous to training she could bark for 45 minutes when placed in her crate.) Daily homework is required to reinforce all the excellent habits she learned at Hunter Canine. The same applies to any new skills a dog, child or adult learns: practice makes perfect!!! The 3 follow up classes provided the opportunity to address problems, ask questions and have an expert make suggestions! We entrusted our two year old mini-Aussie Corgi mix male with Hunter Canine for four weeks. We received a new dog at the end of the whole experience. A reactive, undisciplined puppy is now obedient and a joy to take on walks. His trainer, Karly, is the best. She was able to give us a dog who is part of our family and we love to just hang with. And along with our puppy, we got trained on how to best interact with him. We highly recommend Hunter Canine and their staff.

I have a 9mo old Weimaraner, who obviously has a ton of energy. We were paired up with a phenomenal trainer named Mia, over at Hunter Canine who worked miracles with her development. To see such a night and day difference with your pet is a gift that keeps on giving. Best investment I've ever made. Their facility is great and their staff care extraordinarily about the dogs as evident in all facets of their business. Everything from kennel maintenance to landscaping is meticulously clean. Our trainer Mia, made an excellent teacher who coaches extensive classes and is a great asset to the company. I'm very happy that I chose Hunter Canine. Definitely a 5-star business for sure. Our Frenchie is a NEW dog after completing a training retreat at Hunter Canine. In fact, I walk into local establishments and am complemented on how well behaved he is! Never in a million years did I think I would hear this about Vader. Before going to Hunter Canine, Vader was a man-hating, jealous outburst nipping, territorial Frenchie with "little man syndrome". He even thought he was tough enough to attack a javelina and miraculously lived. We had multiple instances of people and other dogs getting nipped by Vader because of jealousy/territorial issues and we were extremely worried he was a lawsuit waiting to happen regardless of how much we adored him. Another concern we had was how attached he was to me. Knowing we want to have kids soon; we were nervous we'd be put in a situation of having to give him up to have a child - this just wouldn't do because he is our baby too! We found Hunter Canine by word of mouth through someone on Facebook and when we learned Chad had Frenchie's of his own, we were sold. The sticker shock got us at first, but the countless training hours and work our senior trainer, Karly, put in with Vader (even being sure to socialize him multiple times with different men and her baby) was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY of our investment. We truly felt like all of our concerns were heard and dealt with properly. The facilities are also top notch, I felt so comfortable and at ease leaving Vader there for a month. We received multiple pictures and videos during this time! After graduating the "e-collar program", we no longer have ANY concerns or worries with Vader and know he will be the best big brother when the time comes! We were so impressed with Vader that we decided to put our other dog Nova (well-behaved) in obedience classes with Hunter Canine and are doing the rattlesnake avoidance training through HC as well for both our dogs. We owe Hunter Canine SO much for giving us peace of mind and control over our dog’s behaviors. We would HIGHLY recommend them to ANY and EVERYONE needing dog training! Karly and Chad are pretty darn cool too, so that's a great added bonus :)

Before going to Hunter canine, our dog was territorial, didn't really know how to do anything besides sit, and was a pain on the leash. With that we decided to start with the 3 week boarding program. To be honest, not being with our pup for that long/the cost were definitely hard pills to swallow at first. Fast forward 3 weeks later when we came to see his demonstration, we were blown away! We had him walking right by our side all around their giant training field, sitting, downing, staying, and going to a placemat and staying there calmly. He was no longer territorial/aggressive towards other dogs/people. With that we moved forward with the additional week long off leash program. Upon bringing him home, it has truly just been a whole different experience than before. He's obedient and friendly, yet still can be his goofy loving self. It really allows you to connect and bond with your dog on a deeper level. We can travel with and take him places that we never could before without being stressed. With that all being said, the program was 100% worth the cost in the end. I would highly recommend it to anyone who considers their dog as a true companion in their lives. It's an investment that will reward you the rest of your dog's life. P.S we were so impressed with everything and our relationship with our Frenchie, that we decided to enroll our German Shepherd mix into their obedience program.
