We brought our dog here when he was about 1 1/2. We had already tried puppy school and a couple of rounds of positi e reinforcement training and our dog was still of control. It was wally hard to make the decision to leave him in board and train but the results have been worth it. We have a well trained dog who is easy to take out in public now.

Couldn't recommend Houston Dogworks enough. One year after starting, my dog is a fully adjusted companion that can go anywhere with me. Aside from the incredible command-based control we have over her now, the relationship I have with her is unbelievable. Seriously, where to start. Our 11 pound American Hairless Terrier was a true terrorist. She bit our daughter, neighbor, and grandmother. She snapped at a little girl’s face, and she slipped out of our gate and chased a dog down the street to attack it. People always want to pet her since she’s hairless. But we couldn’t risk it. We tried a certified veterinarian behaviorist and were on the brink of sending her back to the breeder. Then we found Houston DogWorks. We immediately trusted Josh and Kennedy’s methods. After a six week board and train we started working with her ourselves. Guided by Josh and Kennedy we learned leash healing, sit, down, stay, etc. Their methods have tamed our tiny beast. She loves going up to people now. She earned her Canine Good Citizenship and can now handle a room full of people and dogs with ease. We are forever grateful to Houston DogWorks. ❤️

He’ll be the first to tell you that success will require commitment, but what’s awesome is he strives to make the training process enjoyable for both you AND your dog. Definitely recommend! Update 1/2025: Josh and the HDW team helped me get my second dog about 6 months ago. They went above and behind to make sure the integration of the new dog with my existing dog was as smooth as possible. And when my new dog got critically ill, they stepped up and helped however they could. Truly above and beyond. We’ve now been through training and my new dog is doing great. Everything I said above is still true today. If you commit here you will be successful. Thanks Josh & Kennedy!
