Upon meeting Joe, we were immediately impressed and knew he was the perfect choice for our furry family member. Our boy, whom we rescued from the desert and nursed back to health, had boundless love but lacked manners, often resorting to using his mouth excessively to show affection. Concerned about preserving his joyful spirit, we hesitated to enroll him in a board and train program. However, all doubts vanished when our pup returned from his six-week training; he retained his lively personality while also learning to listen and behave with a confidence we had never seen The most challenging part came next: training us to listen and behave. Joe's expertise not only transformed our dog but also taught us how to effectively communicate with him, a crucial aspect we had not overlooked but had greatly underestimated. What sets Joe apart is his exceptional ability to train both dogs and their owners, offering a comprehensive approach that has reshaped not only our understanding of dogs but also ourselves. His approach to training stems from a careful and thorough education that understands and applies the full spectrum of conditioning. Through his approach, your dog will love training. There are a ton of “professional” trainers in the market place, Hodge Canine is the real deal and their training will speak for itself. Working with Joe is something I highly recommend for pet owners, working K9 handlers and trainers that are looking to get better.

Our 1 year old French Bulldog just returned from a 4-week board and train with Joe and we couldn’t be happier! Right from the first interaction I was impressed with Joe’s knowledge and Emily made setting everything up so easy. They took a lot of time to understand our goals and I felt totally at ease that our little girl would be in good hands. One of the things that we shared is that we wanted our frenchie to be able to travel with us and Joe took the initiative to conduct training sessions at the airport to begin familiarizing our girl with that environment. Every week we eagerly awaited our update video and were blown away by the progress. During our first transition session Joe took the time to make sure we understood everything that he did and why. I’m confident that we can continue his work. So happy with our decision to use Hodge Canine! Joe and Emily are seriously the best!!!
