Highland Canine Training - Alabama

We had an incident with our 9 month old aussiedoodle trying to dominate the house with our 4 year old sheepadoodle. He was being very aggressive in the house to the point we werent able to bring them in the same room together or even bring them together outside on the leash. Corey and Shae came out to our house and over the course of the 6 week training got it to a point where we could take the dogs for a walk together and even sit in the living room together on their leashes. They showed us some techniques and some habits that we have been working on with both dogs that allows us to at least be able to walk them and put them in the backyard without worrying a fight will break out. I wasnt sure that was possible before the training and thought we might have to give up the aussiedoodle. Its still a work in progress but at least now we can see a possible light at the end of the tunnel. I cannot recommend them highly enough for the training they provided and the willingness to provide it in home made it even better so they could see how the dogs behaved. We didn’t realize just how much we needed Corey & Shae until they started working with our aggressive Aussiedoodle, Rocky. They came to our house once a week for private training so they could work with him and our other fur baby that he is aggressive with. They also provided tools for helping me walk our sheepadoodle so that he doesn't drag me down the road (again). Rocky is still a work in progress but thanks to their training, he is getting better and we have learned that our emotions are a big part of how he behaves. They did a great job with him and us! ♥️

I've been knowing Corey for years he is a one of many reasons for the love of the German Shephard breed. Corey has a gift and to work with him over the years an watching him be blessed with his crew has been a amazing remarkable experience. He trained my stubborn English bulldog Khloe years ago to be a therapy dog for autistic kids foundation she visited hospitals and nursing home for years he got my first German Shepherd Raven through his three week obedience with wonderful results. I adopted my second German Shepherd Max from Corey he trained him an he is wonderful. I give Corey a excellent review in his business and amazing people and family that I have watched him grow with over 15 years since I met him. I also am blessed and thankful for Corey and his crew rather it's vacation or surgery whatever I call Corey and my dogs have always been taken excellent care of every time that's a huge rare comfort. I love Corey and his crew an always make sure to stay active on his growing status.

Highland canine training did a phenomenal job training our two dogs while attending their board and train program. To start, the owner invited us to an initial meet up at the facility. This was a great opportunity for us to meet the team in person, get all of my wife's and my questions answered, and they even gave us a tour of the facilities that our dogs would be able to enjoy. During the training, we received regular picture and video updates of the girls playing with other dogs, as well as seeing their progress with on and off leash training. We even got to see them be Facebook famous a time or two, which was fun to share with our extended family. While multiple different trainers got to work with the girls, the main trainer assigned to our dogs, Wyatt, did a wonderful job at staying communicative with my wife and me throughout our time away from the dogs. Leading up to pick up day, Wyatt sent us a video of him showing the equipment and commands with our girls so we knew exactly what to expect once we arrived. This was so cool to see because not only did we get to see the girls in a personalized video the day before (which got us amped and even more excited for the reunion) but we also got to see how he worked with each of them, which is helpful after the fact as a reference in case we forget how to do something. Upon arrival, Wyatt took the time to show us everything we needed to know and not once did we ever feel like he was rushing us. He gave multiple opportunities for us to take time to think of any questions we may have. A cool feature with this program is in the form of an "in home" follow up. The week after we brought the dogs back home, Wyatt came out to the house to see how the transition was going. This was particularly helpful for us, because apparently one of our dogs was way more confident at home than she was at training. And because Wyatt took the time to get to know our dogs, and their crazy personalities, he quickly identified the change and helped us to correct a behavior issue that she started developing with her returned confidence. He stayed at the house and answered any more questions we had, and even went on a couple short walks with us to make sure the girls were following the training as they should be. Also, the girls absolutely loved seeing him again.... I think they have adopted him into our pack in their minds. All that to say, I cannot say enough good things about Highland Canine Training, and their team in the Birmingham branch, to truly capture how much they have improved the quality of life for our dogs. And thank you Wyatt for loving our girls enough during their stay to get to know their personalities and win over their hearts.
