I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Luis from Harmony Training in Rhode Island through the IACP since 2022, and we’re great friends. Luis is not only a talented trainer, but he’s also deeply committed to learning, growing, and becoming the best possible trainer he can be. His dedication shows in every interaction — with dogs, clients, and fellow trainers alike. Luis combines a thoughtful, balanced approach with patience, clarity, and genuine compassion. You can see how much he cares about helping dogs and their people build strong, confident, and positive relationships. I can't recommend Luis & Harmony enough- in 4 weeks I have already seen tremendous growth and improvement with my rescue mini schnauzer, Petunia. We didn't get the full picture of her behavior from the rescue we got her from, and found out pretty quickly when we brought her home that she was reactive to a lot of things. We were unable to do things like pick her up to put her in the car, wipe her paws, dress her for cold weather, brush her, dry her off if it was raining out...really touch her at all without her going full gremlin mode and biting without warning. I was completely overwhelmed and tried methods to help minimize her biting that I found online, but didn't see improvement. I was pretty desperate when I contacted Harmony for guidance and I got a call back from Luis almost immediately. I really appreciated that he talked me through all my options and also acknowledged that I was put in an unfair position from the rescue (she was in foster for over 6 months so I believe they knew of her behavior and didn't disclose it) which was validation I needed to hear. He told me it would be a lot of work, but assured me that it would be worth it. He was so right! After 4 weeks, I can pick her up and put her in the car for trips to the park and appointments no problem. I am able to dry her off, touch her paws to my hearts content, put sweaters on her for walks when the weather is super cold, it's amazing. Petunia and I have been able to bond through training, and seeing her improve and gain confidence is so worth the cost of lessons. An added bonus is that All 4 Paws Grooming just opened a location right next to Harmony, so Petunia is able to get groomed in a calm environment that focuses on her needs and takes their time. The last groomer I brought her to was unable to use clippers on her or bathe her due to her reactivity, and she had zero issues at All 4 Paws because of their approach and the training we have gone through. I am so grateful she can experience grooming stress-free and Petunia looks so cute! Having everything in one location is convenient and also feels like a little community that cares about the wellbeing of dogs and owners alike. If you're thinking about bringing your dog to Harmony- do it!

I can’t say enough good things about Luis and his team at harmony dog training I was getting renovations done in my home and I had to do a long boarding time I called Luis on a recommendation from my family and he did not disappoint any questions I had Luis had the answers for and whenever I called for a update it was always nothing but positive feedback from the team I just went to pick my boy up today and came out smiling happy and healthy as could be!! They also offer awesome add ons while your dog stays with them like day school, enrichment treats, etc. I highly recommend harmony dog training to anyone looking for somewhere to bring their beloved pet thank you again to the team here for taking such good care of Leo and I look forward to working together in the future!!

My husband and I have worked with a few trainers in the past, all of which were good but didn't actually understand the issue we had with our dog- severe reactivity being one. Luis was awesome! Not only did he come to our house as that's where most of our issues were happening, he listened and reassured us that our dog wasn't "bad" and that with some confidence and training everything would be alright. We had a baby over a year ago and our dog was starting to snap and claim space with her. You can imagine how as a parent the fear we had, especially since our dog is 7 and were all he ever knew. Luis worked with us on some situations and tools we now use in our daily lives to ease my anxiety and allow my husband and I to begin to trust our dog again. Luis has taught us to hold our dog accountable with the basic obedience training; we know he has and understand the importance and how they all connect to make a better, happier dog! I can't thank him enough and will definitely be reaching back out!
