Happy Pup Manor

Our 6 month puppy had the BEST time here! Happy Pup Manor is professional, very easy to communicate with, provides constant updates on your dog, takes good care of your dog, and provides incredible training! Our dog come back completely different- he can now walk with us without pulling, he listens to us, and he just overall a better behaved dog. 10/10 recommend Happy Pup Manor if you're wanting training for your dog, they were incredible!

We brought our golden doodle home when he was 8 weeks old. I had dogs growing up but I never remember the puppy stage like this. Nipping, not listening at all, the dog was basically “in charge” of us. This didn’t work because my two younger daughters were actually scared of him even though he looks like a cute little teddy bear. When we first got him, we thought we could figure it out on our own but we were so wrong. 😂 After talking to our breeder, she highly recommended Happy Puppy Manor. About two weeks later, 12 weeks old, our boy, Eugene, got picked up in the magical black van and headed off to the 4 week board and train program. We all cried when he left so it was extremely comforting when HPM would send pictures and video of our boy every other day. He made friends while he was there and I could tell he loved it! He even had his first puppy groom while he was there. When Gabby brought him home, we were in shock at just how much he had learned. When we talked to Gabby initially, we discussed my younger daughter’s fear and Gabby recommended focusing on the “place” command in addition to all of the other basic obedient commands. Boy did she nail it! When he got home, she asked him to go to bed and he stayed there for about 20 min while she started talking to us about his training. In addition to place, he has learned to stop pulling on his leash, come, stay, sit and down. Most importantly, his nipping and jumping went down significantly which has allowed the fear to be removed from my daughters! He also stays in his crate all night until we are ready to let him out. Prior to his training, he’d be the one walking us up every morning. Gabby and all the wonderful trainers and staff created such a strong foundation for us to build on. Their communication was great and, although I was hesitant and in disbelief that Eugene could learn that much in just 4 weeks, the entire experience was very positive and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Best money I have ever spent! If I ever get another dog in the future, they will, for sure, be heading to happy puppy manor board and train! Eugene will be heading back for boarding in the future. Happy Pup Monor seemed like a good fit for my pup, as they specialize in goldendoodles. I was going out of town over Halloween and thought it would be a good time to get some training in, as my pup has had some issues with nipping and loose leash walking. I called a few weeks prior to Halloween to see about getting a tour of the manor, as their website says you can tour. Gabby said they do not offer tours, but I got the impression that my pup would be in good hands just based on my phone conversation with Gabby. Pickup was seamless, we met in the Whole Foods parking lot in Hinsdale, also the communication from the manor was wonderful. That's where the positives end. On Oct 31st, just a few days into the stay, Gabby called for a pre-scheduled update on training. She pointed out the few things that I mentioned above and wanted some clarification or background on those issues. All seemed well until about Thursday when I got a call from Carol. She left me a message saying that my pup was showing some aggression and tried biting the trainer. I called back and spoke with Gabby. She told me that he tried to bite the trainer while in a training session. We spoke at length about Breck and I told her that I put on the intake form that he has issues with nipping. She said I have 2 options, I could pick him up or put him in the boarding program for the rest of his stay. I chose the latter as I was out of state and it wouldn't be easy for me to come back on a moments notice. The thing that really frustrates me with this whole thing is that I was upfront about his problems, but still they decided to take my money anyhow and later tell me that they don't handle dogs with aggression issues. Breck has shown no improvement in any areas at all. If he had learned anything during his stay I wouldve been offered a home lesson, which I wasn't. I could've boarded him locally where I live for $480, but ended up paying almost $1300 to board him at Happy Pup Manor. Don't waste your money on this place, there's better out there.

My puppy Sarah was a handful for me and my husband. I know puppies are a lot of work but Sarah proved to be a bit more than we expected. We choose Happy Pup Manor at the recommendation of the breeder where we got Sarah. Well when Sarah went to training the next day I received a call from Gabby that they had evaluated Sarah to see what she knew and how her temperament was. Gabby went over the results with me and we discussed what my goals were for her. As the days went by I received videos of her at the Manor. I enjoyed watching her socialize with the other puppies. I did talk to Carol her trainer once about how she was doing with the training. Then came the day she arrived home and we had the training lesson with Carol. It was so wonderful to see how Sarah had changed. She was a different puppy more obedient and much easier to handle. We went through all of the commands with Carol. She is a fantastic trainer. I could tell that she loves what she does. Many thanks to happy Pup Manor for the care and training that you gave to Sarah. It is a gift that will remain with her the rest of her life. Thank you!!
