Guter Hund K9 Training

It was an absolute pleasure working with David from Guter Hund. We have never done any formal dog training with our other dogs and now we wished we would have done so sooner. Our German Shepherd puppy went from being a crazy puppy spaz to being a well mannered dog on walks and listen to commands. David will give you homework in between sessions and the more you put into the homework, the more you get out, but David 100% made a difference in how we train our dogs.

I had 3 one-on-one training sessions with David and my 11month old puppy Georgia Beth to help correct her consistent barking, jumping, obedience issues, and have her walk on a loose leash. Within the first lesson I saw a significant change. She now stays when she is told at the door and comes when called, she’s improved tremendously on loose leash walking. By the 3rd session her protective barking at people and dogs was improved greatly, I was shocked! I highly recommend David as a trainer, he’s patient and explains what you need to do to help train your pup extremely well for the best results. Thank you so so much David, you’ve worked wonders! David did an amazing job training our 2 pups and us as owners. He took his time with all of us and really went out of his way to ensure we got the most out of all our lessons. It was great to have him come to our home for the first few sessions, then move on to public areas where we could put the basics to the test but still have him there to talk us through everything. 100% will use him in the future if we get another dog.

After over 20 years of having Border Collies as pets, and some of you know how challenging BCs can be, and attending multiple training classes, and watching videos and private lessons and reading books, I had one of the best lessons I’ve ever had the other evening with David. I brought along one of my dogs that has aggression issues with other dogs. So I was a little apprehensive when about eight other dogs and owners were attending the class. The hour went great. For me and my dog it was about learning to be around other dogs without being stressed about it, how to avoid confrontations, how to correct inappropriate behavior and how to teach the dog what is right and what is wrong. There was no waste of time as we went from one productive exercise to another. It’s just what Cap and I needed. I don’t think my dog is cured of aggression, but I have learned how to help him achieve our goals. It appeared to me that everyone and their dogs were benefitting from the class.
