Gulf Coast K9 Dog Training

I can’t even begin to express how grateful we are to have found Jillian. I’ve always grown up with German shepherds so finally when the time was right, we brought home Freya. Prior to Freya officially joining our family, we initially planned to train her on our own. But as recommended by our breeder, it was highly recommended to seek out an experienced trainer. I spoke to multiple trainers in the area, not very impressed with their presentation and program. I came across Gulfcoast K9 and was intrigued. I set up a consultation call with Jillian and from the moment we started talking, I knew she was going to be our trainer. Based on our needs/goals, Jillian recommended her puppy development program. We went a few weeks with freya home before her official program started and boy… we were at our wits end with her! All the typical puppy traits but heightened due to the nature of the German shepherd breed. Even though we didn’t officially start the program, Jillian was right by our side recommending different tricks and tips before starting. Prior to dropping off Freya on day 1, I was extremely nervous. Of course all the “horror stories” of board and train programs started to flood my internet browser so I was starting to become hesitant. But on day 1 when we went to drop off Freya and officially meet Jillian in person, all my anxiety and fears went out the door. Jillian is absolutely an incredible human being inside and out and it is evident she is so passionate and talented at what she does. I knew from day 1, Freya was in the best of hands Now looking back on how far we’ve all come, I’m beyond amazed. When Freya came back from her first round of board/train, everyone that knew Freya before was shocked at how much more well behaved she was and impressed of how much she learned… everyone thought we brought home a different dog!! The more people that Freya meets, the more people are shocked at how well behaved she is for her age! What sets Jillian out from other trainers, IMO, is that she goes above and beyond to not only train your dog… but to train you. She’s very passionate about the dog/owner relationship and it’s evident in all our follow up lessons. I could honestly go on and on about Jillian and the program she has developed, but I am so grateful we found her. Freya, and us, wouldn’t be where we are currently without her! 1000000000/10 stars! I can't say enough great things about Jillian! My dog responded so well to her calm and consistent training approach. Jillian not only worked with my dog but also taught me valuable techniques and tools to continue reinforcing the training at home. I appreciated how personalized each session was to fit my rescue pup’s specific needs and personality. I feel so much more confident as a dog owner now. Highly recommend to anyone looking for lasting results and a happier, better-behaved pup!

My wife and I brought our 4 year old reactive pit bull Rosco to Jillian in the hopes that he would improve slightly at home and on walks. Jillian's training of Rosco (and of us) has far exceeded any expectations we had going in. The whole family is more calm and confident on walks, and we now know multiple techniques to reign him in and and get home safely. Jillian's teaching has given us peace of mind and we are all much happier. We will not take Rosco anywhere but here. Thank you, Jillian!

Jillian is truly amazing. We have a reactive 4 year old pit bull. In addition to the reactivity he came with, we were also attacked by a dog while on a walk not that long ago. We had been through so many training programs with minimal to no improvement. For the educators out there, we had essentially tried Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports. At this point, our dog needed a FBA (Functional Behavior Analysis) and BIP (Behavior Intervention Plan). Jillian is highly trained and so thorough. She listened to what worked and didn’t work with previous training programs and was able to break down why they weren’t effective for us and our dog. She did an incredible job at taking that information and using it to train us and our dog in a way that WORKED. Jillian was so helpful in building back our dog’s confidence as well as our own. If we had a set back while training at home, she was able talk us through what happened and how we could approach it differently the next time. The parent training aspect of her program truly is just as important as the dog training. She was patient and kind with all of us the entire time. You can tell Jillian truly loves animals and helping families have fun with their dog again. Our dog loved his time there and we did, too!
