Guiding Canines

I can’t say enough great things about our experience with Valentina and Guiding Canines! We chose the 4-week board and train program. From the start, Valentina was incredibly easy to work with—clear communication, genuine care, and a clear passion for what she does. The transformation in our dog has been phenomenal. Behaviors we struggled with for months were completely turned around, and our pup came home happy, confident, and so well-behaved. It’s made a huge difference in our daily life. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—this program is absolutely worth it! At first I was reluctant to consider a board and train program but I am so thankful we chose it. It gave me a chance to clean the house and regroup my brain. Our 1.5 year old son and our puppy had been running me ragged! Val gave us the techniques and knowledge to show our puppy how to gain impulse control and to have some manners around the household. I can actually take both of them out of the house for walks at the park by myself now!

Our 6 yr old boxer Tuck thinks he is still a puppy. He is HEAVILY emotional so doesn't like to be away from the family. Guiding Canines is the only place we have ever boarded him that didn't stress him out. Its very obvious to see the owners have huge hearts for animals. Professional, fair prices, and so consistent with high quality care. We enjoy peace of mind on our vacations more now knowing that our dog is well taken care of and having fun himself. Thank you!

Valentina and her husband are honestly the best. We have two dogs and they treat them both like family. They are so well taken care of while we are out of town. We regularly get picture updates and in constant communication with them. There is no one else we will leave our dogs with. They truly are great! On top of just being all around awesome, they are veteran owned and friendly and very affordable for boarding!!

Val is incredible. We brought our leash reactive shepherd, Bruce, to her for 4 week board and train. She really took the time to learn about him and understand his triggers. But even more, she dedicated the extra time to helping us make sure we could implement new techniques at home for continued success. It’s almost 3 months later and he’s still so much more manageable. Val even checks in on us to see how he’s doing and sends additional helpful tips as she comes across them. She’s more than just a trainer but is truly dedicated to the success of our dog and of us. Couldn’t recommend Guiding Canines enough!

We’ve done several one-on-one and group training sessions with her, and we’ve made great strides in our dog’s leash reactivity, even after working with other trainers and years of our own training with our dog. They’re also the only people we trust to board our Tillie! They are incredibly knowledgeable about dog behavior and communication — we always feel completely at ease knowing that they understand how to read dogs and makes sure they’re in safe, comfortable situations when interacting and playing with other dogs. Tillie is always well cared for and happy when she’s with them, and we truly trust their judgment 100%. We’ve recommended them to many of our friends in the area for both training and boarding, and everyone has come back with great success stories of their own.
