I cannot recommend Chris at Green Mountain K-9 enough as a dog trainer. My dog Finn was a psycho who needed a lot of help. Chris showed me on the first day what was possible. Finn no longer jumps on people, no longer pulls on walks, and comes when he is called which were three big things he struggled with. Chris is very personable and cares about helping you achieve the goals set for your dog. If you are looking for a dog trainer go with Green Mountain K-9!

Chris is a wonderful and knowledgeable trainer who provides real and quick results. He uses effective tools and teaches owners how to effectively handle their dog. We can now enjoy walks with our dog with no pulling or reactivity to other dogs or people, we can take him anywhere in public, and have him off leash with confidence because he now listens to our commands every time. Until we saw him I never thought that those things would be possible. I highly recommend Chris to anyone struggling with obedience issues or aggression/reactivity. Our dog’s quality of life has drastically improved and so has ours.

Chris is nothing short of a life-saver, quite literally. At 5months old, my dog had a human bite history and human and animal reactivity that was “unchangeable” - as told to me by the trainer we had been working with since his reactivity started (shying away and growling) and through his aggressive reactions (2 near-bites and 1 actual bite). Chris gave us the tools and trust in each other to work as a team. He identified Bo’s strengths and motivations then developed a plan that worked for us. The recommendation of 100% avoidance, given to me by the previous trainer for my “lost cause” dog, turned to allowing Bo to choose his interactions, and have ACTION instead of REACTION when fearful. Chris trained both of us to trust in each other, read cues, gain confidence, and have an actionable plan with triggers. Bo now knows that he can greet people/dogs/etc if he wants and has been trained to disengage if he is uncomfortable instead of lashing out in fear. He is still timid and is by no means the life of the party. But, he can now GO to the party. I can confidently have him around people, dogs, small pets, and livestock, both on and off-leash, knowing that we have a loving and working relationship. He has been mistaken for a service or working dog on multiple occasions. He loves jowl rubs from strangers, food that gets stuck on kids’ faces and hands, brewery trips, the staff at the local coffee shop, and don’t even get me started on his love of Home Depot (especially the staff aprons that hold treats). If, in the moment, he decides he does not love those things, he returns to my side. No bark. No growl. No bite.
