This place was amazing with my dog and sent me report cards, Videos, And pictures almost every day she was there. Malina was very tired when she was picked up but she had been working really hard for the last 3 weeks. Jamie was wonderful with Malina and responded to questions I had while she was there. When I picked Malina up, Jamie spent 2 hours with my mom and I explaining how I need to follow up when Malina came home and made sure I felt comfortable with the commands I need to make sure Malina follows with me. I am so happy to have had this opportunity to be able to get Malina in this training and for all the wonderful trainers Malina worked with. The training helps to support me for life and I can contact them any time I need a refresher or a question. I will also be following up with them to take Malina to day camp when I can't work from home to be able to get her the positive socializing she needs. Thank you Jamie and thank you Great Lakes Dog Training Co. for taking such good care of my sweet Malina baby 🥰🐶

Do not take your dog here for in-house training. Your dog will end up with kennel cough. My dog had never been sick until she stayed here. She ended up with a bad case of kennel cough. She also now shows aggressive behaviors that she did not have before she went. Even though she was bathed prior to my picking her up early at their request, she still stunk. They promised videos and report cards which I did get. About 3 minutes of video. Out of a 24 hr day. The place is not clean and the dogs are not safe from illnesses. I have filed complaints with the BBB and will take this to small claims court. As have other people. Do not go here. They ghost you if you have complaints. They also remove bad reviews and will block you if you post anything negative. And the promises they give you going beyond the training, it doesn't happen. Think long and investigate the heck out of this place. There are other trainers in Michigan. Move on to a better place to have your dog trained.

I’m extremely disappointed with this Company. I decided to go with them instead of the other one I was recommended after seeing their videos and posts. They canceled last minute, didn’t offer another training option that was what I bought (not daycare) and never gave my money back, I never ever had a problem getting money back specially for so many days. I’m tired of asking for MY MONEY when clearly was not my fault, feels like I’m begging . They said 10-14 business day, it’s 16 now and no sign of my money. They don’t conduct business well neither a follow up. It’s frustrating!

If you are looking for amazing training for your dog, this is the place to go. GLDT did an INCREDIBLE job working with my deaf dog, Pearl, and we cannot believe the positive changes we have seen in her. Traning any dog can be tough, but training a deaf dog takes a special kind of person and Abbey is beyond fantastic. She understood Pearl, worked with her beautifully, and brought her so far from where she started. She also loved Pearl and took wonderful care of her and their bond was sweet. When you leave your pup in the care of someone else, you want them to love your dog like you do and the entire staff was kind to Pearl. Her training regimen was appropriate, incredibly helpful, and the fact that we can always go back for refreshers/help is such a relief. The daiily report cards, with pictures and video, of Pearl were so special to receive and the entire team was helpful and responsive anytime we reached out. I cannot say enough good things about this business. They are wonderful and worth the investment in your dog!

We have two rescue dogs—Rosie and Jack. Rosie needed some basic leash training, but Jack, a four-year-old German Shepherd mix with severe anxiety, was nearly impossible to walk and chased after trucks. Great Lakes in Ferndale was amazing. The staff knew exactly how to help and went above and beyond with extra training. Jack is now much easier to manage, and we’re in a much better place. Highly recommend for anyone needing help with rescue dog behavior.
