Grand Rapids K9 - Dog Training

I am so pleased with GRK9. We adopted a Cattle Pit (American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Cattle Dog) who is now 9 months old. Jason and his staff was recommended and I reached out. Jason and his team not only spent two weeks training Cashew the basics but they take time to teach you how to reinforce and maintain the training they have started instilling in your dog. I wholeheartedly recommend Jason and his team.

My boy spent two weeks with trainer Kaysie and I am so pleased with his progress. He has always been a handful, easily distracted, and always tries to run the show. With the new fundamentals in place, I can see the “good boy” in him emerging. It was obvious that he bonded strongly with Kaysie, and I was amazed at how obedient he was with her. She’s a magician with my darling (but naughty) boy. I’m looking forward to our training session in my home! Kaysie is an excellent, informed, compassionate trainer, and I highly recommend her and GRK9.

I submitted an inquiry about training on the website and received a call back that same day. After speaking with Jason about my dog, I brought my four year old maltipoo for board and train, and have been so happy with the results. Max was a good dog, but reactive around other dogs, stubborn, and ran away from home (as I type this, I’m questioning my previous good dog statement.) Since leaving K-9 and working with Kaysie and Jason, Max has been able to walk without reacting to other dogs that we pass (he will even sit and wait as they walk by until I release him from his sit command.) He may test the boundaries of our yard, but actually returns when called. He plays with other dogs! His world was getting smaller and smaller because he didn’t know how to act in public, and I didn’t know how to correct it. Kaysie made one visit to our home and was able to identify areas where max may struggle with following his rules and taught me how I could correct it. She gave me insight in to Max’s behavior and what I can work on with him before she comes back for the final in home training. This program was definitely worth the cost; my only regret is I wish I had done it when he was a puppy because we both had some frustration over the last four years.
