Grand Rapids K9 - Dog Training

I took my 5 month old Belgian Tervuren "Rider"to Grand Rapids K9 for a two-week board and train. I could not be more pleased with the results. When I dropped Rider off, he was shy and skittish. Jason sent regular videos demonstrating Rider's progress. When I came to pick him up he was very comfortable and confident with Jason and his surroundings. He followed him everywhere, and it was clear Rider had fallen in love with Jason. Rider went in a skittish puppy with low-confidence and came home a much more mature and confident dog. We brought our nearly 2 year-old field-line golden retriever, Campbell, to Grand Rapids K9 as we were struggling to manage his high arousal levels and general high levels of drive (i.e stubbornness/listening, jumping, mouthing, inability to settle, etc.,), and the results from Kaysie & Jason’s work was immediately apparent. They provided us with numerous tools and techniques that have proven valuable as we transitioned Campbell back into our home and we’d highly recommend them to anyone else struggling with similar issues or with a high-drive dog. Further, I would highlight the effectiveness of the in-home visits after the board & train program. Naturally there were pieces of the training we struggled to implement, so having Kaysie stop by to help us refine our techniques and provide additional suggestions was most effective in getting the training to stick.

Jason and Kaysie were excellent with our 10 month of golden retriever. Goose badly struggled with recall off leash, active listening, and leash manners. He was genuinely a maniac especially when meeting other people. We picked him up today and have already seen such a difference especially after Kaysie introduced the slip lead for walks. Both trainers are very knowledgeable and personable when giving advice and new tactics. Overall, we would do the board and train a million times over again to see the difference we have.

We had such a good experience with Grand Rapids K9. We completed the board and train with our new puppy Louie, and it was a great way to get the fundamentals of training in, as well as getting focused attention on things we wanted to train like loose leash walking and strong recall. Kaysie was excellent with our dog, it really felt like she loved him as much as we do. She tailored her approach to our dog specifically, and she even trained us humans too. She has kept up with us even after the onsite training. We are so happy she worked with us and our puppy is thriving. Great experience all around, and would definitely recommend for all new puppy owners.
