Golden Paws Dog Training offers fun, effective In-Person and Online dog training using positive reinforcement methods. Our new facility serves Minnesota’s Iron Range, including Virginia, Hibbing, Eveleth, Gilbert, Mountain Iron, Palo, Aurora, Hoyt Lakes, Biwabik, Embarrass, Babbitt, Tower, Ely, and Duluth. We specialize in puppy training, basic manners, obedience, rally, agility, canine good citizen prep, and behavior modification. Online classes, workshops, and webinars are also available through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. Whether you’re raising a puppy, working on manners, or preparing for competition, we can help!

When is the best time to start training my dog?
It's best to start when your dog is a puppy! The important socialization period is from about 3 weeks of age until about 14-16 weeks of age, and it's super important that you properly socialize during this time. Our puppy socialization package gives you that opportunity to socialize and start to train your dog. The manners classes will help your dog learn basic manners and obedience skills.

The puppy socialization class has been so good for my high energy Auggie puppy! We’ve learned important steps to introducing him to new dogs, people and places. He is becoming much more manageable and he is fun to bring along now. He joined us at Ursa Minor’s very busy dog friendly outdoor patio and he was a perfect gentleman. Thank you so much Angela for giving us the tools we need to succeed!
Best training I’ve found in northern MN. They use positive reinforcement training methods which has worked great for my dog & what I was looking for. Smaller classes with plenty of room so you’re not too close to other dogs. Nothing is rushed. Training is clear & easy to follow. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking to train their dog.
I did the 6 week puppy socialization class with my Dad. It went great, I learned more things to practice at home. I was able to play with different puppies and play and explore different things I don’t have at home. I had a great time. The instructor, Angela was great. She had some great treat to give me. Cooper, our 7 mo old Brittany, just completed Basic Manners 1. The class was well organized with a folder including all the weeks classes given out the first day. This provided a good reference to practice from and see what was coming ahead. We've only had Cooper for 2 months, so needed a basic class and this was it! The building space layout is great with individual areas separated with their own raised dog bed. Angela, our instructor, was well versed on the many breeds present and understood them well. This helped individualize instruction and as an owner on things your dog was not great at she gave positive reinforcement and many times it was just knowing how the breed learns. We live in Ely, and I wish we were closer, but the drive is well worth it! 5 stars for sure! Ellen and Cooper
