Golan Dogs

My husband and I were at our wits end. We have owned four Bichons , but this little 20 month old ,Kaylee, had issues we hadn't encountered. Her constant HIGH pitched barking and destructive chewing was intolerable. Trying humane bark collars and every suggestion from friends and family proved worthless. By some miracle searching for dog trainers in San Diego I came across Golan's website. Just reading his credentials was enough for me to confidently call . I knew I was probably the cause of most of the poor behavior . Golan understands the nature of dogs, it's that simple. How they think, their motivation , their level of intelligence, etc With that knowledge ,he can individualize a training strategy. In my case he analyzed my behavior making effective corrections and authoritatively worked with Kaylee. Truly after the first of 8 sessions he solved the barking issue. We went on to work with a different issue each week always with a great result. Obviously it takes repetition to reinforce the newly learned behavior. Golan is a true professional. He is confident in his knowledge, polite, punctual and a pleasure to work with. I can recommend him without hesitation!. We now have a happy family and cannot thank him enough!

Absolutely great! The techniques used by Golan work. Golans tactic is to train the Trainer. My small dog wouldn't stop barking at people. After a few sessions with Golan, he has now learned to stay quiet and behave. Golan gave me tips and taught me how to train my dog. Golan's calm demeanor and knowledge of dog behavior is unsurpassed; and most importantly, it works like a charm. My dog now barks way less, he minds his own business and enjoys his walks instead of being nervous and turn vocals. I now know how to train and behave around him for best results. Thank you, Golan!

I adopted Axel, a rescued Rottweiler who was approximately a year old. After having him for awhile, it became apparent he had leash reactivity and aggression towards other dogs as well as strangers, to the point my wife gave me an ultimatum of getting him under control or returning him to the pound. I tried two different trainers ( both highly rated on their reviews ) with less than satisfactory results. They seemed pretty hesitant to actually work with Axel around other dogs or people, and both wanted to use an e-collar on him with the strategy of zapping him for EVERYTHING. All that did was make him less confident and less trusting with me, while not addressing the main issue of what I needed help with. Fortunately, a lady at one of the local dog parks mentioned how helpful Golan was with her dog, and how he tailored training to the dog's specific needs without the use of a shock collar. In desperation I decided to see if Golan could help, and I'm glad I did. Golan listened to what I thought Axel's main issues were and what goals I wanted to accomplish, and set up a personal plan for meeting those goals. He wasn't afraid of taking Axel to high traffic areas with other dogs and people, all the while explaining to me how to read Axel's body language, as well as what to look for when other dogs or people are in the vicinity. Golan worked miracles with my dog, as well as showed me a better way to interact with him. He made it easy to find a schedule around my work times, and his training sessions were both fun and informative His costs are quite reasonable as well. I'm so pleased with the results I plan on bringing Axel back to Golan for additional training. Hands down Golan has been the best personal dog trainer I've worked with, and highly recommend him to anyone who needs help with their dog.

We started working with Golan to address going for walk behavior, dog park & restaurant patio etiquette, & commands with our 3 year old Golden doodle puppy. Bottom line - we saw a complete transformation in each category while working with Golan. What was so appealing to us was how Golan’s methodology is rooted in phycology rather than treats/shock collars. Golan was consistently a great communicator and was especially accommodating when we needed it. We’ve told many of our friends to consider Golan as our quality of life has made a huge jump now that we can include Alice in more activities. Really great value in the specialized/1on1 training. Our experience with Golan was wonderful. Our newly adopted dog had a fear of the trolley trains that run downtown. Golan took the time to teach our dog and train us human about the power of being a leader, walking with confidence and using the leash correctly. Very professional and very caring. He listens to your questions and concerns and addresses them appropriately. I would use him again with any additional training needed.
