Genetic Canine

I was initially very apprehensive about sending my dog, Harper, to a board and train program, but from the very first meeting with Amanda, I felt reassured. She was warm, professional, and took the time to address all of my concerns. Harper was trained by Kerri, who was absolutely wonderful with her — patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I could tell Harper was not only safe, but also truly loved and cared for throughout her stay. I’m already seeing a noticeable improvement in her behavior and responsiveness at home. I’ll absolutely continue to use their services and recommend them to anyone looking for quality training for their dog!

There aren’t enough good things to be said about Genetic Canine and the staff! Our Malinois is a rescue who came from an unknown but rough start, and we initially brought her here for their 4 week board and train program. The team was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and caring—they helped her build confidence and trust, and we saw such a transformation in her behavior. Now, she boards with them whenever we’re out of town, and it’s clear how much she loves it. She practically pulls us through the door to see Kerri, Amanda or Yohanis and it gives us so much peace of mind knowing she’s in a place where she’s not only safe, but truly happy and not cooped up for the entirety of the time. We’re so grateful for the love and care the entire team shows her. It really feels like a second home for our girl. Highly recommend!

I came to genetic canine for help when my 4 month old German Shepard puppy started showing signs of reactivity Amanda quickly got us started with some puppy classes and we then moved onto a 4 week training program. Amanda and Yohanis worked so well with our pup that he is now great off leash and his reactivity is so much better if not completely gone at only 7 months old! I would recommend genetic canine 100 times over Amanda and her team are amazing!

I can’t recommend Genetic Canine, Amanda, and Yohanis enough! We’ve worked with other trainers in the past, but I never really felt comfortable—and honestly, nothing seemed to work, so we just stopped trying for a while. Everything changed when we found Amanda. I started working with her because my five-year-old rescue, Dakota, has a lot of anxiety around new people and was very leash reactive. We recently adopted a new puppy, Duke, and I wanted to make sure Dakota’s issues were addressed so the puppy wouldn’t pick up on them. Amanda was so supportive, kind, and completely non-judgmental. She made me feel comfortable and gave me the tools and confidence I needed to help Dakota. With practice, dedication, and all the support from Amanda and Yohanis, Dakota has come such a long way. We just had our first group class and it went amazing. I am so proud! Yohanis has been just as incredible—always there to answer questions, encourage us, and celebrate the progress. And Duke, our new puppy, completed the puppy program and did great! He’ll be starting the adult program soon, and I know it is going to be another great experience. I can’t thank Amanda and Yohanis enough for helping me through this entire process and making Dakota & Duke the best version of themselves!
