Genetic Canine

I had such an amazing experience working with Yohanis at Genetic Canine! We brought our German Shepherd littermate pups to him when they were 5 months old for the puppy program and they are now 8 months old and just finished the adult package. They know all of the basic commands, walk nicely on a loose leash, down stay for extended periods of time, not reactive to other dogs or people, have a lot of confidence and so much more. Yohanis is patient, fun and gives clear instructions that both my dogs and myself understand. A lot of dog training is training the human and because of Yohanis we have the best obedient pups on Long Island! I highly recommend Yohanis and Amanda for all of your dog training needs!

I wish I could give 100 stars. I cannot say enough about Genetic K9 and our trainer, Yohanis. I came to them as a last resort; my two dogs were fighting, and I was heartbroken at the thought that I might have to rehome my almost one-year-old puppy, Emilio. From our very first session, Yohanis showed incredible patience, skill, and understanding. He will also tell you honestly WHEN (not if) you are the problem :) Thanks to his guidance, I now have two happy, well-balanced dogs who enjoy each other, and nobody is going anywhere! Yohanis took the time to really listen to my concerns, help me set achievable goals, and ensure I fully understood not just what to do, but *why* it worked. I’m beyond grateful to Yohanis and Amanda at Genetic K9 for giving me the tools and confidence to create peace in my home. Because of them, Emilio and his brother Herbie are living their best lives and I can relax a little. I highly, highly recommend Genetic K9 to anyone looking for compassionate, effective, and truly life-changing dog training.

I am so happy with the results of the 7 sessions of training my dogs got from Genetic Canine. I recently got 2 puppies which made our household 4 dogs in total. I had no control over any of them. I am so thrilled to say that they are acting like different dogs. My 6 year old now allows people to pet him. My 4 year old can chase geese away from the backyard and run back to me on command, without eating the geese poop which she loves. My puppies are so obedient and smart. They stay in position even when I leave the room. Amanda is amazing. I am going to get additional training for my dogs because they appear much happier now than before the training. I can’t thank Amanda enough.
