Ever since I got my standard poodle as a puppy, I have been attending classes with him. My vet recommended Fur and Feather Works and he was so right. Positive reinforcement works well. As a mom to 3 human kids and an elementary school educator, I know this is the best way to teach anything new. The classes are small. The instructors are amazing. They ask about issues you’ve had with “homework” and address them immediately. Training my spoo has been so enjoyable. And he’s such a good dog as a result!

I absolutely recommend Fur and Feather Works!! If you want the best training for your dogs, this is the place for it! My SO and I have both of our dogs in training for very different things and the training both the dogs and us humans have gotten has been nothing but the best. Working with Sarah to get signed up for classes or get clarification on things is always a breeze. The times/days offered for the classes and the in-home private lessons are super convenient too. The special topics seminars that they host like the "Control Yourself" one geared towards rambunctious young dogs is also so incredibly helpful and valueable. Joanna, Joan and Monica are the epitome of dog people and the wealth of knowledge they have when it comes to working with and training dogs is incredible. The scientifically-backed and cruelty-free methods combined with their passion for dogs ensures top tier quality training that really works. They truly know how to effectively work with dogs of any age and with any sort of training needs. For example, our senior dog is dog reactive, but since he's been in private lessons with Monica he is like a whole new dog. We don't have to stick with the "midnight walkers" schedule and he seems so much happier and less stressed when seeing dogs he doesn't know. Even within just the first few lessons it made a night and day difference. It has made both his life and ours easier and we are so, so grateful for that. Additionally, our big goofball puppy has been going to the group classes via the Benji bundle with Joan and Joanna. She has a blast at the classes and they truly wear her out. The instructions and homework given by the trainers is so clear, helpful and effective that she's becoming one of the most well-behaved dogs around. We can't wait to keep up her training with FFW to get her trained in more advanced things like nose work and therapy dog work. Again, I cannot recommend them enough!

I was recommended to fur and feather Works by my veterinarian for my three month old puppy that needed socialization. it was the only place that accepted puppies that were not fully vaccinated. it is a fun class that your puppy will love. They get to play with other puppies, their age and learn basic obedience. My instructor Heather was wonderful and my puppy was obsessed with her. I highly recommend this class for your puppy.

We have done many classes with Fur and Feather Works with three dogs, and the experiences have always been positive. Joanna so obviously cares deeply about the pets and their people, and has an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge. She clearly treats training as both art and science, and she is a master of both. We have been through many types of classes, and she has helped us correct problems with older dogs and shape puppies into great adult dogs. This company came highly recommended by our vet, and we have never been disappointed. We have never had a bad experience, never seen one happen to anyone else in class, or even heard of someone having one. Joanna has infinite patience and is willing to put in as much work as necessary, including lots of induvial attention. Class sizes are small, and you will definitely get your money’s worth. You will still have to do your homework, and the end result depends on how well you do your part, but Joanna gives you the tools, knowledge, and training to be the best pet person you can be, and that translates into great pets as well.
