How much work do I have to do?
That depends on you and your dog. However, most owners find that if they work with their dog for at least 20 minutes, 2 times a day, they will see remarkable results.

What training methods & equipment do you use?
We use a 'motivational' dog training approach. This method uses a combination of Traditional training and Positive Reinforcement training - tailoring programs to fit each individual dogs' temperament and needs. We use a variety of training equipment - depending on what will work best for each dog and owner team. Motivational Trainers reward through praise, treats, toys - whatever works for the owner and dog. They also give leash guidance to the dog and owner to stop or control problem behaviors that are destructive, annoying, or dangerous.

How often do we come to training classes?
Weekly or every-other-week training sessions generally work best, but we know sometimes life gets hectic. So, we try to be as flexible as possible with meeting your scheduling needs.

How much does dog training cost?
While it's impossible to estimate cost until we meet your dog, we have programs from around $900 to $1800 - completely depending on what we're working on with your dog. Our goal is to find the service that works for you and your individual needs. We also offer financing through PayPal Credit. Ask yourself this: How much does a waste of time & money cost? Amateur dog trainers usually charge around $400 to $600 per 6 week course. They do NOT offer specialized behavior modification methods. Imagine paying good money and then your dog is more aggressive, destructive, obnoxious, and disobedient than before. Over 50% of the dogs we see each year have already been to large group training classes with an amateur dog trainer. Another 30% of the dogs we see each year have been to other private trainers or board and train programs, and in some cases have spent thousands of dollars on methods that just don't work. Training without a good foundation doesn't give reliable, predictable results.

I highly recommend Front Range K9. We adopted a 1-ish year old herding mix who is a social butterfly. We wanted to make sure we avoided him becoming reactive and help him be more polite. Their structured program is excellent at teaching you how to teach your own dog (so be ready to put in the work). We took the core obedience program and our social pup is much calmer passing other dogs or in new environments like walking around a hardware store. We also learned skills that keep him safe day to day - like the “wait” and “release” commands to get him safely in and out of the car. Both Meg and Jordan are excellent, clear communicators with a sense of humor.

We had our pup ( young; 4 months) in beginning classes at Front Range K9 after researching several other training companies. He is super smart but head strong. He is a sport dog so alot of energy. We found these classes so beneficial!! The weekly classes build on each other so, homework at home. When I had issues with Murphy shenanigans, I would email the trainer and they would offer several solutions and one of them always worked ( counter surfing, puppy biting, food drive). Both the trainers we had ( Jorden and Meg) are so well versed in dog behavior and extremely resourceful. Although there were a couple other dogs in class you did not feel that this was a one size fits all instruction. We will be attending more advance classes in the future. We would highly recommend this organization.

Loved working with Jen Hime and her whole team here. We got a whippet puppy from Jen (she's also a whippet breeder) named Cosmo and we enrolled him in a puppy obedience class as soon as we could. The weeks of individual classes and then group classes really helped Cosmo get his bearings. We had bite-sized chunks of homework and consistency that helped us manage Cosmo particularly as he had difficult behaviors from being so young and high-energy. I so appreciated Jen and her team's expertise in puppies (and of course in whippets specifically). We are able to do walks around the neighborhood and other daily routines much more smoothly than we would've otherwise. We'll definitely be back for more advanced classes!
