I have enrolled in several classes here. The class has its pros and cons. If you are working to show your dog it is great. The instructors are active in judging and showing their dogs. If your dog doesn’t know sit, down, and stay you should teach him/her those skills prior to enrolling. This class concentrated on walking with your dog around other dogs, navigating obstacles on a leash, learning to assert yourself at difficult times- basic control skills. I learn a lot. The beginner class is taught by an experienced show judge. It’s often difficult to hear her and she gets very cranky if she has to repeat herself or a person is slow to master an instruction. You can’t take her too seriously. Most of us laughed when she scolded an owner. Some people don’t return after a cranky correction by Kathy. They should find a new instructor who is interested in teaching novices. They should also invest in a mic and speaker for the instructors. The second class is taught by a lovely lady who is super fun as well as knowledgeable. She is amazing! You just have to get through at least 5 of the 6 sessions with Kathy. It’s good practice in not taking criticism too seriously. Listen carefully and you’ll be in her good graces. She doesn’t seem to hold a grudge if she thinks you are dense lol.

The instructor was knowledgeable but the environment is awful. It is in a metal commercial building with no air-conditioning or ventilation. It was hot, loud and difficult to hear. I also found it difficult to keep myself and puppy distanced from 3 dogs that showed signs of dog aggression. I found this frustrating and it impacted my ability to concentrate on working with my pup. I was constantly trying to keep distance from these dogs. 2 of the owners were just careless and clueless. It was not a good experience.
