Franklin K9 Academy

We are 3 lessons in with our two 4 month old puppies and have already seen a remarkable difference. Eric works so beautifully with our dogs in our home and then teaches us the tools we need to continue during the week. He is calm, patient and so loving with the dogs. They are excited to see him every week and each lesson starts with lots of tail wagging. Highly recommend if you want well behaved dogs!

My 8 year old AmStaff Terrier, Zep, has always been very excitable at dog parks. He would get so excited that he would completely ignore my commands while he played with other dogs. While not aggressive, his energy doesn’t always go over well with more timid dogs (not to mention their owners, who see a pit bull barking and jumping around and immediately think he’s a threat). We recently moved and Zep was having trouble adjusting to the new environment. He started getting even more out of control at dog parks to the point that another, more timid, dog had enough of his antics and attacked Zep. I brought in Eric from Franklin K9 Academy to help us improve my Zep’s obedience and reactivity, especially when distractions (especially other dogs) are present. We did 5 lessons, supplemented by “homework” where I reinforced the lessons between sessions. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? By the end of five sessions, Zep had learned a couple new commands (off and place), improved his responsiveness to all commands, and vastly improved his demeanor and obedience in the presence of other dogs, including when off-leash. I was in awe of how much my dog matured in just a few weeks. Eric did a great job instructing me as well as Zep to ensure that the lessons would stick. Eric was incredibly wise and skilled in working with our gentle giant. He not only trained him well one-on-one, but he gave us the tools to continue schooling our pooch on our own to ensure his continued behavioral improvement. From day one to day eight, it was like we inherited a new dog. I could not recommend Eric highly enough and will absolutely be reaching out to him when we get our next pup. A+.
