Gracie is my first puppy and I didn't know what I was doing when I signed up for online training sessions with Johanna. Well, Gracie has become the best dog - she's a joy to have around and easy to live with. Johanna taught us how to understand her needs and "listen" to her. Taking the class online was a big advantage. I got to apply what I was learning as I trained Gracie. Johanna knows her dogs!

Last year, I started working with Johanna to help my 10-year-old chihuahua mix, Penelope, with her separation anxiety. This was no small undertaking - it was a long journey full of lots of ups and downs, but through it all Johanna was an incredibly supportive, positive, present coach. Every step of the way, she helped find the right solution for Penelope while helping me reframe my own outlook. After several months, we've made huge progress together - Johanna is extremely knowledgeable, incredibly patient, and solution-oriented, and I'm so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with her!

Our dog, Dolly, was very excitable inside the house and on walks. During our live personalized one-on-one training with Johanna, we learned a lot about how dogs think. Understanding Dolly's emotions made the training process so much easier because Johanna helped us identify Dolly's feelings and train her at the right level every step of the way. Since working with Four Legged Scholars, Dolly has learned how to listen and we have the tools to help Dolly mitigate distractions in the house and on walks. She no longer barks at strangers out the window or blocks the door when we have visitors. I highly recommend Four Legged Scholars because the value doesn't end after your live sessions. Johanna provides a very thorough program. You will feel empowered to continue training your dog and know how to in the best way!

Problems that we had before working with Four Legged Scholars would be an aggressive dog, who just hated everything. She would bark at everyone and everything. Some things that I have learned would be counter conditioning, how to read dog body language and loose leash walking techniques. Overall she has improved, even though she's not 100%, but with more work, she'll get closer to that goal. I did live personalized one-on-one dog training sessions by the way.
