Fortunate K9 Dog and Owner Training

I was excited to potentially work with the trainers there, and a girl name Jen was rude in her email to me and very pretentious. Her context in her email was belittling my experience and my excitement of what I could learn from them. Her customer service is extremely poor and now has just lost a client willing to spend $499 a week on a program for 6 weeks. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone based on Jen's customer service skills.

I am currently enrolled in the private lessons with Rick. I have a one year old Cane Corso who was a handful! We’ve had her enrolled in obedience from 12 weeks on but she was still very reactive with strangers. She did awesome in the classroom setting but in the real world she was a total mess. After multiple trainers and more money then I even want to think about, I heard about fortunate K9. I did my research and was convinced she needed the Board and Train package. During my evaluation, Rick explained to us our dog needs to respect us as her handler and we would be better off in private lessons. This completely surprised me (in a good way). I had been to another facility for an evaluation a few weeks earlier and was told the trainer wouldn’t work with me unless I did the (expensive) board and train program. This showed me Fortunate K9 isn’t about the money; they really want what’s best for you and your dog. Our lessons have been going great! Since the lessons are typically not in a training room, I find them so much more valuable. She is definitely a work in progress but I couldn’t be happier with the pace of the results I am seeing. I absolutely recommend Fortunate K9 and plan on being a long time customer!

These trainers are the real deal: experienced professionals. They will train you and your dog using compassionate, effective methods. When they say "when you're ready for results" they mean RESULTS. After multiple other unsuccessful training experiences, a friend recommended FortunateK9 to me, as I had a dog aggressive German Shepherd that I was ready to give up on. Rick Froton, one of the trainers at FortunateK9 told me I would see results within our first three sessions and HE WAS SO RIGHT. If you are looking for training for your dog, FortunateK9's "Dog and Owner Training" is the choice to make. You will NOT be disappointed, I can not say enough positive words about how much they helped me and my dog, and how knowledgeable these trainers are. They care about dogs, and they care about you and your relationship with your dog, and really know how to bring the two of you together for good.

My dog Lemmy and I completed the board and train program at Fortunate K9 Dog and Owner Training and I could not be happier with the results. First, Rick and his team are kind and caring people who truly want you and your dog to live happier lives. I adopted Lemmy about two years ago and while he is an incredibly sweet and goofy pup, he had major separation anxiety, acute dog-"stupid" (as Rick likes to call it), and was not trustworthy around other dogs. When I went to see Rick I was at my wit's end and felt like I was trapped at home with my dog. FK9 gave Lemmy and I the tools to live more harmoniously. He is more comfortable being left alone and I am able to confidently control him around other dogs. Over Christmas I was able to bring Lemmy to my parent's house where he got along with my sister's dog. As an added bonus, his obedience is impeccable! He sits, lays down, stays, heals and places like a champ! I found FK9 after spending over $500 wasted dollars on other unsuccessful trainers. FK9's philosophy is direct and straight forward. As a result both you and your dog know exactly what is expected of each other. I was worried that the board and train program would not transfer to life in the real world, but boy was I wrong. Lemmy is as obedient now as when I picked him up from Derry. Moreover, he is the same lovable, silly, and playful pup he's always been. I cannot recommend FK9 enough. I am eternally grateful for their guidance and continued support. Don't waste your money anywhere else!
