We love For Your K9! We have done nosework there for years with Melanie who is lovely. We have learned so much from Liz Vanderhoef in excitable and reactive dog classes - she has been such a tremendous resource and help, and approaches dogs (and their humans) with kindness, humor, and expertise. We've taken numerous other classes and seminars which have all helped us with our dog. They have changed our relationship with our dog for the better, and we are so grateful! Highly recommend!!

We took the Reactive Dog class with Liz Vanderhoef, and we are now continuing in the Focused Fido class with her. I can’t even tell you how amazing of a teacher and coach she is (for me and the dog!). In just a couple of months, my dog has made some wonderful strides. He is more relaxed, more playful, more affectionate, and better behaved. Liz has not only taught me how to help my dog manage his “big feelings”, but more importantly she has helped us connect and have a better relationship. Other people in our life who didn’t even know that we were going to classes have noticed and commented that my dog is calmer, seems more engaged and happy, and is listening better. The things in the past that caused outbursts don’t trigger him as much as they used to, and we have learned techniques to help him before he is stressed to the point of outburst. We had other trainers for 18 months that had us doing the same things over and over that weren’t helping. I wish I had found Liz a lot sooner (I’m sure my dog does too!).

Amazing experiences all around!! We have taken 3 different classes now with Liz and she is amazing. She really meets you and your dog where you are and works with you specifically; giving each dog in class their own accommodations, recommendations and even homework! I have told every dog person I know about For Your k9 and Liz!! After not so great experiences at other training facilities I’m glad we found For Your k9 (and Liz of course!)

Super supportive, super helpful, and made a huge difference with my dog’s leash reactivity. She provides great opportunities for connection and continued support after the class, and builds a great community! Not only that, but she has a great breadth and depth of knowledge regarding dog body language, behavior, meaning, and training and bonding methods. She does a wonderful job teaching and setting both dogs and owners up for success! I can’t recommend her enough. Highly recommend!
